The criticisms you raise are all absolutely fair, and I agree that this study doesn’t do much to tell us whether male or female doctors deliver better care.

Probably it was designed by and tested on men..... just a guess.

And even if women are, on average, the same, the bias for selecting men inevitably means that less-qualified men beat out women who are better at the job. It’s very clear that there are plenty of white men out there who were hired on the basis of their demographic.
