Well, on the plus side my wife will be happy that I’m spending less money on board game Kickstarters now!

Now playing

I like the Mastertech version myself, but either way, it’s solid gold.

Oh, like how I can sell my TF2 hats or Steam trading cards or Counterstrike guns or Artifact decks (lol) or could sell my Diablo 3 item drops already, all without NFTs?

Nah, don’t sweat it. Personally, I’m more into the hobbying aspect of it - building and painting - but the cool thing is there’s all different parts to latch onto. Some are more into the lore, some folks are all about hyper competitive gameplay, other people just want to hang out with buddies and throw some dice for

The Emperor had no intention of keeping the Astartes around for one second longer than they were needed to conquer the galaxy. Ask the Thunder Warriors how irreplaceable genetically engineered super-soldiers are. The Custodes knew this about the Astartes, but fooled themselves into thinking they were different.

Weird how unionization seems to suddenly light a fire under management to be seen as solving problems that have been around for years or even decades without that same management feeling any need to do something about them. One might almost think that they’re worried about losing power, but surely that’s impossible,

Nah, they’re facists that think the best way for humanity to prosper is to install a permanent regime of genetically superior rulers. One of the first things Guilliman did when he came back was essentially abolish human control of Ultramar in favor of putting Astartes in positions of direct leadership and command,

“the energy cost is negligible” - It’s monumentally higher than a database entry, which is what has been used all this time for in-game purchases with no problems. On top of that, in order to get that smaller energy cost, you have to give up the vast majority of the security that Proof of Work blockchain promises...

If the games are sort of jingoistic, the backstory, as told in the novels and comics I guess, is pretty much the opposite. It’s really hard to sympathize with the UNSC pre-Covenant, and honestly they’re not much better after the Covenant shows up.

But, again, you don’t actually own the item. If Ubisoft goes tits up, or when Breakpoint’s servers go dark, you have nothing. Your NFT pants are just as gone as if you’d bought them from a traditional storefront, except with a larger energy cost associated to the purchase.

But, as has been pointed out in the past, that’s been a solved problem for a long time. Friggin’ Baldur’s Gate 2 was able to figure out that I had the Golden Pantaloons from the first game way back in 2000. Modern games with server-based player accounts only make this easier.

I’m thinking their oppressed underclass rising up to throw off their oppressors theme would be right up his alley. And hey, when they win they still lose ‘cause ‘nids eat everything, so he it still fits his thing of stumbling at the finish line.

Just Warcraft, actually.

Killmonger, meanwhile, is 100% GSC, right?

I feel pretty confident that they will get those fixed. It’s almost certainly not going to be the same engineers working on fixing emulation as it is getting new games working.

For one thing, most of the Genesis games (which would be the bigger draw for me, personally) are or have been included on dirt cheap retro game compilations already released on Switch as one-time purchases not tied to a subscription.

I would assume they mean using older launcher versions to get around a ban, but I could be wrong. I have a hard time imaging how a newer uPlay launcher could cause server connectivity issues.

Listen, all you naysayers, just hear me out on this.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure that’s the point I was trying to make in my response to that other guy.

“Just imagine a popular band releases NFTs for a song. The NFT owners could make passive income from airplay, sales or streams of said song (the song itself, not the NFT). The band will benefit from sales and resales of the NFTs, and the owners will reap the rewards too.”
