So in other words, this is the game that Dragon Age 2 desperately wished it was?

It really depends on what kind of gameplay you like:

Anyone interested in organizing a "help Fahey buy a TV" fund? I'd contribute, though I don't know that I have the time to organize or run it myself, sad to say - I'm pretty busy.

Hrm..I wonder if there was ever another machine, made by a Japanese game giant, released about 1.5 to 2 years before the competitions "next" generation.

If this picture IS a legitimate image, it's very likely of a Dev Kit - there's almost no chance the console itself exists in any sort of near-final form, and Dev Kits don't always look like consumer-level counterparts.

The potato countdown is currently at about 400k, counting about 10/second.

When are they going to figure out how to make a portable SNES/Genesis/Etc that doesn't have the cartridge sticking out of the top?

Oh man - I hope you like it McWhertor. I've been playing an import version (which has English options, for those looking to get this game early) and have been LOVING every second of it, though FFIV is admittedly my favorite FF of all time.

Too Human did not take "10 years" to make.

Thread OP is a spoiled brat, IMO. Boo hoo, I'm not happy that I only had TWO girls to romance, waaaah.

Is it just me, or does this look like they're ripping off Hunted: The Demon's Forge before it's even released?

I love the one with the "watching myself on youtube" - great punchline and stellar delivery. I totally lol'd at it.

Uhh, because he's a horrible person who displayed a degree of depravity that few if any human beings are capable of?

No. It's not all that matters. He tortured and killed living beings, and he deserves to be a cover model because he "paid his time"? Frankly he shouldn't even be allowed back into the NFL to be held up as a role model for children and teenagers to admire, let alone adorning the cover of one of the biggest selling

The funny thing is that GW2 has been in development for 3+ years, and has always been trying to buck the "Holy Trinity", but now that's its public suddenly WoW is moving in the exact same direction...

@Dutch JaFO: I think it's generally more of a "there's not easy way to redo this anyway" attitude. Since game scripting controls most of that, and game scripting is so heavily tied into specific levels and layouts, there really isn't a way to reuse it.

@Dutch JaFO: Well, that's part of the problem - you can't assume anything.

@HJSoulma: yeah, amen to that on the RPG length. I'd love to play more RPGs but they do tend to be epic 100+ hour affairs. Maybe when I was a kid that would have been awesome, but I've got a wife and kid of my own now - I just don't have time for games that exceed 20hrs in length and even that's pushing it. I love

You know, as a game designer I've had this same thought time and again.

@HJSoulma: Well, when you put it that way, I guess there aren't a lot. I suppose your tolerance of the system's RPG library depends on how tolerant you are of ports/remakes. There are a ton of those: FF1/2/4, FFT, Persona 1/2/3/4, but yeah, Persona does take a ton of time. I really liked Valkyria Chronicles -
