It would have been nice. Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know she's never done it before, so why expect her to give a lesser know artist some shine now.

Most of the responses I'm seeing on this are say this is not her best performance. One of the funniest comments I saw was from Royale E. Cheese on versmartbrothas. said, "Jesus take the wheel and steer her back into pop lane, please." According to a lot of people she doesn't have a voice built for gospel.
Troof!
My sister and I were talking about how in the 80s and 90s it was not unusual to have more than one black female hip-hop artist on the radio. We have regressed in a number of ways sadly. *Mainstream* hip-hop ain't here for me, so I'm not there for them.
Wow! That's my old high school.
I think I was on the flight when this happened.
:) It just goes to show you how insidious anti-blackness is. They would not fix their mouth to say some crazy shit like that about her mother cuz the is the 'right' kind of black woman: light-skin with (fake) blond hair. But even the smallest, obviously black girl has to get this shit.
Blue is a cutie patootie to me. But she has three things going on that some people are going to continually be assholes about:
This is why BET can kiss my ass. I mean, really. Blue and I have the same type of hair: nappy. Did they expect her to come out of Bey's vag with a long, flowing blond locks? Geez.
I long for the days when you could just not like something without being labeled a hater.
No worries. I noticed I said 'you' instead of 'him'. Can't edit it.
What about the glorification of pimp culture? Seems to me that that would call for a letter because that would effect his daughter considering the amount of black girls that are trafficked every year.
His azz took the time to write an open letter about this, but as many women spoke about on twitter, you didn't take the time to write an open letter to Rick Ross. Or to any of the other misogynists in hip-hop. Hypocrite.
Yeah that kind of irked me too. Female pop stars have been shaking their scantily clad asses since the 80s. Now all of a sudden it's revolutionary?
We all know people will jump through hoops and do mental gymnastics to justify their reason for like something. Feminists are no different. I just don't understand the inability to just say you like something just because you like it. No justifications needed.
Not really a fan of either of these two (I guess I should turn in my black card), but I have to say that reactions to their "alleged" impending divorce will say a lot more about us than them.
Right! I know a ton of people that went that route. First of all it's a hell of a lot cheaper and second, easier to get in.
Yeah, I remember that. I want to say it changed at the start of book four or something like that. It was hilarious.
This is a legitimate concern of mine. It takes him what 5 to 6 years to finish a book.
And not only is Don Cheadle HOT (he would definitely get it) He is light years ahead of Terrence Howard in talent and acting ability.
