Either the Honda or T0yota is the right answer.

It doesn’t matter. A base corolla can hit and sit at 114 mph with no significant problems. Why the hell can't the GR?

One drove 114mph, and the other didn’t have insurance?  Definitely responsible drivers that I would trust without question.

It must be weird to drive this and nearly be able to look modern pickup drivers in the eye.

I don’t know why people think these things have no crumple zones. They have just as much as any other pickup truck does, and probably better than most given no massive frame rails up front and no engine block in the way. Stainless steel crumples just fine. It’s stiffer than regular mild steel, but not THAT much

Should have stuck to the script, Toyota. That GR engine had been around for 20+ years and been well and truly figured out.

Maybe not legal to sell new vehicles with known safety defects. And you would have to somehow find buyers for defective vehicles without using any advertising.

In fairness, the buyback was voluntary. Some people decided to keep their Solos while most turned them in. The problem is that the issue that triggered the buyback can brick the Solo while it’s moving and there isn’t a fix. Obviously, that’s dangerous enough that ElectraMeccanica would rather just destroy them then

Because the liability would be worth a lot more than the money they’d make selling them.

Honestly, I’m OK with it.

So, I know this is a car site and all but, Who the fuck needs a car with 500 hp? Why is something like this available from the factory, for sale to normal idiots who have enough money to buy one but nothing else that says they’re capable of handling a car with this much power?

found in a nearby backyard hiding underneath a sheet of plywood.”

2023 was a pretty bad year for this guy; there were also multiple court case judgments against him to the tune of about $50k from what I assume are credit card companies (Citi Bank, Discover, etc). Sounds like he finally lost his shit.

The wild thing is that he didn’t need to do any of this. If your pilot license gets taken from you there’s usually just a 1-year waiting period before you can apply to get it back. Seriously, even Trevor Jacobs, the jerk who intentionally crashed his plane for clicks, was eligible to apply for his license again after

Shoot him down over Alaska and the bears will get to him before they find the plane

Tourists bring a lot of money, yes.  But Cruise people?  They arent there for the hotels or the restaurants.  They are there to jam the city streets and to take pictures and mess up the joint.

I opted to stay on another sleepy island when my siblings headed off to Santorini back in 1999 as it had a reputation already. Cannot imagine what it is like nowadays.

Fuck tourists. I grew up in Vancouver and yeah, tourist dollars are great. Tourists as a group are dirty, rude, disruptive, demanding, destructive, and inconsiderate.

The tourists coming from Cruise are not the tourists you want. They dont stay at hotels, dont stay overnight for dinner and if you have been in Santorini, you will know they are shuttled in buses to the upper part of the island. These are not good for the locals. You want tourists that stay overnight and these are not

If you could install the system for $20,000 and get $800 in pure profit every four months, that’s a 12% yield every year. That’s a no-brainer. You get a home battery backup and enough money every three months to pay you back for the cost of the install in about 8years? I’d do that in a heartbeat, especially if really
