When I started selling heavy trucks in 1988 the preferred engine among the five axle dump truck owners was a big bore Cummins. 14 liters if I remember correctly. It had an unprecedented 315 HP and 950 ft.lb. torque. Those owners loved it! They were the envy of the road. Now... Meh.

Something like ADS-B on aircraft perhaps?

I did a five year stint as a parts manager at a Porsche/Audi and Fiat dealership in the late ‘70s. The single cam engine was indeed stout. The main weakness was the timing belt. Recommended interval for replacement was 24,000 miles. It was best adhered to. At 24,001 miles it would break taking out the valves. The good

Ford is number 2? How many hundreds of EVs did they sell?

You can turn that feature off you know. Or do you?

And no Tesla, no Lucid, no Rivian. Is this auto show fading into irrelevance?

A naturally aspirated V8 with a six speed manual. As God intended.

That makes an assumption that storage technology will never change. Pretty short sighted. Keep up with exciting new developments. Like salt and aluminum as the main elements. Both plentiful.
