Yes, the weight (or lack of) is surprising. My 2021 M3 SR+ had a shipping weight of 3616 lbs. with a 47%/53% F/R weight distribution. Definitely a drivers car. Almost no runways handling transport planes are that short. The shortest runway I ever flew commercial in and out of was in Key West. 4500 feet. In a B737-200 no less. That would be considered snug for many Lear Jets for example.
