Below value compared to what? The market is the market. I get that it sucks for guys who expected the market to be better than this based on recent history, but the league is quickly realizing that players peak younger and younger and that paying for past performance is mostly dumb.

I think this is more the draft pick being attached to him than anything. The collusion theory isn’t holding up hugely well, as a lot of guys are getting pretty big deals, just later than usual. You gotta ask yourself what contract you’d want your team to sign Moose at if you know you’re giving up a high draft pick too.
That’s about $130 million in revenue, this season and in future seasons, even before they start playing baseball.
