What is, specifically? I didn’t read anything in there that sounded like it violated anyone’s rights as a worker, even by EU standards. It’s not illegal for your boss to tell you that your work isn’t good enough, or to ask you to re-do it.

This is not remotely transparent

This was opaque, not transparent.

This sounds like “sorry SOME PEOPLE can’t handle how hard we work.”

Who said I lost? You’re the one misinterpreting clear statements and criticizing the design decisions of a game you haven’t even played.

“To begin with,” we were discussing that getting all the endings doesn’t mean playing through the whole game multiple times. You took my statement “Something tells me he didn’t even get to ending A” as “This guy’s opinion is invalid because he didn’t get to ending A,” when that was not my intent. You also ignored me

Also a wonderful reminder of the near infinite amount of art related to the Warhammer franchises, and the far inferior Warcraft rip off :-D

Its not really playing through the games multiple times. Getting “endings” A through E is a single “play through” of the game.

Not only does he know, he’s requested (jokingly I think?) that it be zipped up and sent to him weekly. And then he actually received a ton of stuff.

Still upset it was Total War: Warhammer -> Total War: Warhammer II

If I wanted bulk items, then yes, loot boxes are cheaper. But why would I ever want that? I play a specific set of characters/heroes/champs/whatevz, and i want some specific skins/customization for those. I don’t hoard items like a maniac, i want those specific things that I like. In this case, loot boxes are

Gacha games are designed to attract and exploit people with addictive tendencies, though. There’s a big difference between creating a product that inadvertently harms a small minority of users and creating one that’s specifically targeted to profit by harming them.

I’d have to argue that the fact that people are spending real money and/or time on the chance to acquire it already means it has as much value, if not more, than the mostly green piece of fabric with a few “5"’s printed on it known as a 5 dollar bill.

loot boxes have only really been around in various forms in “AAA” games for the past two or three years. prior to that they were just in mobile games and maybe F2P games.

They are profit maximizers, that’s their job. Especially for F2P games, they are taking advantage of your irrationality, but that’s what caveat emptor means. They know you won’t spend $50 to get the Sword of SuperAwesome but you will probably spend $5 to have a 10% chance to get it. And then maybe do it again.

me too. and again the worst people are the ones that simply don’t care.

I’ve been fed up with this shit since it first started, and I’ve been calling it out ever since even though I’m normally ganged up on by morons defending their sacred corporations from heretics like me.

Over the course of 2 & 1/2 years? I bet it’s closer to 10k then it is to 5k. It doesn’t seem like much but over time it adds up.

I was recently trying to explain this to some people in the comments on a Kotaku article a few days ago. if you don’t have a problem with loot boxes in games then you’re part of the problem.

HotS was bad enough for me without look boxes, but fortunately I have made a considerable effort to stop wasteful spending in games like this.
