There are two or three around here that I know of, and I believe the one closer to my parents' house is the only one that still has the speaker boxes.

My parents saw Inception at a crappy drive-in with the little metal speaker boxes. They had literally no idea what was going on through the whole movie. Although, to be fair, they probably would have had the same experience if they could have actually heard the dialogue.

Who watches the Watchmen…. moviegoers' children???

We have a place that is sort of like that, where they have waiters who bring you Applebee's-esque food and drinks during the movie. The ticket prices are about the same as a regular theater, but I always end up spending $35 on Guinness.

My dad was outraged when the local second-run place raised their prices from $1/$1.50 to $2/$2.50.
