It's been a few years, but I remember watching those alternate scenes on the X2 dvd, and the differences were incredibly minor. It was essentially changing a few pixels to keep the ratings board happy. It didn't actually change much of what happened in the movie at all.

I just don't get the crazily strong opinions in either direction. If it's a superhero/comic book movie that is relatively well produced and well paced, how can you not enjoy it? Or at the very least not care that much and move on.
