Yes, this is true. You can have bad experiences on any airline. I choose to increase the odds of a “normal” flight (safety, hygiene, etc.) by avoiding questionable airlines.

I travel internationally quite a bit and I avoid certain “sketchy” airlines like Air India, Aeroflot, Lot, Wow, Copa, Viet Nam, Eurowings, and the former Indonesian, etc. for things exactly like this.

I’ve worked in advertising on the creative side over for 30 years and I know a bit about rights management and intellectual property. Artwork in public spaces are different, this artist will likely lose this case.

There have been thousands of commercial photos shot and sold or used in ads that were taken in front of artwork (The Bean in Chicago, dozens of Claus Oldenberg’s giant object sculptures, Henry Moore’s sculptures in London, etc., etc.) without any issues. The precedent was set long ago.

This may be a blessing for them, as they will fail miserably in the U.S.
