oooooh, so this is Trumps' strategy, he is slowly driving the media insane by belittling them, thereby making them less legitimate.
the man is a genius!

compared to the book the show definitely has gained something in terms of visual style but lost something in terms of subtlety (there are only so many penises, boobs and rivers of blood they can throw on the screen)

"My name is Jefferson Pierce, for five years, I was running around the school where I teach in leather tights…"

to quote a famous video game AI: "SPAAAAAAAAAAAAACE!!!"

so she's basically Spock if he was a black woman.

as long as he isn't being played by sinbad

in the comics both his daughters eventually got powers.
also, his eldest Anissa was also gay and in a relationship with another woman with powers so because this is the CW you know that will also be in the show.

lol, they NEED to turn this show into blaxploitation. (which Black Lightning basically was originally in the comics)

SERIOUSLY, this star trek show has no shame in how it is ripping off such a great Sci-Fi franchise….those 'Dune' people should sue!

"Where's that Speedy Gonzalez girl?"
lol, that has to be one of the most hilariously over the top racist things I ever heard.
even one of Talbot's men looked at him like: "Seriously, dude?!"

FUN FACT: America is fuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked.

I would have said the premise of a dystopian totalitarian future where the cops are judges, jury and executioners isn't strong enough to hold up for an entire series, but the 2000AD series has been running for over 40 years

The trick in the book is that he shows up pretty early when you are not really sure what to expect from the story so you might not pay attention to his name.
When all the crazy stuff with the gods starts later you kinda forget about him so it doesn't necessarily click in your head.
The book is significantly slower

Yeah, the Viking fight and the last scene were just ridiculous.
"Yeah, just take this bucket full of fake blood and throw it on Shadow"

Let me just say I didn't enjoy the book very much.
It wasn't bad but it felt like barely anything was happening most of the time and Shadow was WAY to passive for a lead to get invested in.
In contrast I think the show strays too far in the opposite direction, where everything is happening so fast you barely get a

He was shadow's friend in prison, the one giving him advice.
His name wasn't a secret in the book, he was also the one who gave Shadow most(if not all, I can't remember) of the books he read in prison including the book that taught him how to do coin tricks)

you need to be brave to keep being in place where you are constantly being verbally abused and threatened with no real way to defend yourself?!

5x Elektra is also there.

really?! Elektra returning is shocking?! to who?

it's not exactly the same with Ward as is with Fitz who has a body to come back to in the real world.
in fact, I give it a 8/10 chance we get 'Evil Fitz' coming into the real world and becoming the next seasons' big bad.
though I'm not sure what exactly his motivation would be to make him a compelling villain.
