And, Spoons

This cultural moment we’re in always amuses me... there’s this concept of “what the fans want” and it will not be denied, as though the creators of games/movies/TV/music are nothing more than fanservice generators. And then specifically within gaming, the various subcultures and the presumed hierarchy therein

Ooh, could this be a console version of the 10-player arcade game Killer Queen? Could be interesting...

This looks like it would eliminate the need for actual cats.

I still recall (with some fondness and a little embarrassment) the old school EverQuest/Dark Age of Camelot grind — find an area you can stake out, preferably with a friend or two, designate a puller/kiter, and spend the next 2-4 hours killing the same mobs over and over, to gain a fraction of a level. There were of

So will Thanos’ super power be to instantly kill half the remaining players? Or will it be builds-tower-really-fast-and-shoots-you-with-a-shotgun, like the other new “superheroes”?

I think Fortnite would be greatly improved by the addition of optional, experimental modes tied to activities like this. There’s a big enough playerbase right now to allow for trying out some wacky things (I’d love to see PvE-only events, like a horde-type game, a scavenger hunt, etc.) without it totally fragmenting

This is not the first example of this by any means, but I just want to point out that we’re living in an era in which choosing one video game over another is referred to non-ironically as “masculine” or displaying “machismo.”

Hmm... I fixed the glitching toaster GIF but apparently am not cool enough to post images, so.

Under what circumstances were you reading the Pioneer-Press? I’d say that was where it all started to go wrong.

This is all pretty much just a thing you made up. There is no “Minnesota-style” pizza. There may well be places that do the thing you’re describing, and there are many more (and better) places that do not.

I will express the (probably unpopular) comment that this is one of the first animated comic movies that actually looks something like something I could take seriously. Setting aside the ninja/samurai setting, which is weird but cool, and the CG, which is... a bit off-putting but could grow on me — the vast majority

Obviously it’s a matter of taste, as well as game design, but I think the existence of the mini-map generally makes game worlds more comprehensible. Even Breath of the Wild, which you clearly feel is much better without the mini-map and which communicates a lot of information within the world itself, benefits greatly

I definitely wouldn’t assume Starlink will actually make it to market, though I hope it does.

My table is ready.

Certainly Nintendo’s own coin-grabbing ways were a factor in this decision, but really, it makes sense to include a collectable mechanic in this. I’m a little disappointed they didn’t align this with amiibo, as it seems like an obvious tie-in, but they probably couldn’t do it at this price point. I supposed you could

I came in skeptical and I’m coming out sold! This sounds fun. I don’t even mind the booster pack thing, as long as you can actually find them. The figures look... Hasbro quality, but that’s a minor quibble really.

It’s really not.

Does it really look “absolutely nothing like” Muramasa?

I could see our current Federal government actively promoting this sort of behavior. I’m hoping they manage to slip in at least a reference to a Presidential rally.

I don’t think it would be exactly that sort of image, given the overt Christian overtones, but you don’t have to look hard to find plenty of games in which Muslims are portrayed primarily as terrorists.
