That’s the great thing about Focus STs. They only come in manual!

I’d go with a Ford Focus in silver. Even my ST blends in with traffic. Unless I do the WHOOOSH PSSST! thing, I can easily roll by the cop department or park in a McDonald’s and use the wifi and no one notices I’m even there. I’m practically invisible.
It’s got a decent amount of room, so you can can have all the spy…
My Focus ST has a damn “upshift” light that pops up on the dashboard to “help with fuel economy,” so if I don’t upchange, I get this freakin’ green arrow with the next gear number beside it in my face.
I’ve learned to largely ignore it, but I may have to break out the electrical tape and stick a piece over that…
I stuck an off-the-shelf tune on my Focus ST, and it became the car that should have come from the factory. It woke up and started running like my Chihuahua when someone rings a doorbell on TV during his nap time, so not incredibly fierce, but a little less cute than normal. It’s got some definite extra scoot now.
Aside…
I lived in Paris when I was younger and one of my first car memories is of the Alfa Romeo Alfetta Duemila we had. It was a snot green color and had orange cloth seats that looked like someone had upholstered them with parts of Paris Hilton.
We’re driving along one day and I’m just big enough to have been allowed to…
My mother was looking for a minivan to replace her Oldsmobile Silhouette Dust Buster and wanted to look at Chryslers. Either I go or my father goes with her to buy cars or have them serviced since she just wants to get from one place to another and doesn’t know or care about automobiles.
We test drive the Chrysler…
It’s a result of loss of resistance when one goes out on the other side since they are on the same circuit. You now have double the current going to the one what works, doubling its speed. It’s a pretty good indicator (pun intended) of when you have a burned out bulb.
I believe that’s artificially engineered into…
How have I not known that you have a 944? My first car was a 1984 944. Guards Red.
Taught me everything I need to know about car repair. Haynes Shop Manual. Oh, and that $2500 clutch job...
I lived in Paris when I was younger, and I’ll do my best to type out how I remember hearing brands:
Renault: reh-NO (that “h” is barely expressed, it’s almost like a slight exhale). Most seem to stress the first syllable, but I never heard it that way. The second syllable is stressed VERY lightly.
Peugeot: POO-zhogh (as…
Women offer unique perspectives and knowledge to anything they are involved in. I’m a “car guy” and have learned so much from women in the scene. Women’s contributions to health, science, aerospace, etc. cannot be denied.
My sister is an E.R. doctor and has saved more lives than I can count. You know what killed her…
Argh. Out of all the cars my family owns, my mother’s Pontiac Montana has the most interesting color. It’s sort of a maroon metallic.
My dad’s Lincoln MKS? Black.
My Sister’s Terrain? Black.
My Focus ST? Silver. Why couldn’t one in Tangerine Scream, or at least freaking red, come along at the right time when I needed a…
I consider things to gain personality and to be held onto in many cases. My guitars and basses are the first things I’ll save from a house fire after my dog. I have played in bands for 20-odd years and you bond with your bandmates. I mean, in a sense that’s above friends and near family.
You will go and rock a bar and…

Well, I think you’ve just found the perfect way to waste the rest of my life. LOL
Thanks for that. I had no idea that was around.
Whoa, wait a minute. That’s possible? I’ve played bass for 23 years and always got wrecked when I played Guitar Hero since I just default to the muscle memory. Five plastic buttons and a little flappy thing aren’t exactly accurate.
I’m not going to hack up a guitar for it, but I always thought an adapter box and an…
My 1955 Chevy Bel Air was my daily driver in San Francisco for around four years back in 2006-2010. It’s the oldest I’ve driven. I figured, “Well, if they drove them daily in the 1950s, why can’t I do that now?”
I learned some things. It had the original AM radio; there is nothing much good on AM. I had to actively…
Do exactly what you did, kid. My 1984 Porsche 944 was expensive, but I learned everything about cars since it broke down quite a bit. Sometimes I’d watch mechanics wrench on it and talk to them. Other times I’d go off the Haynes shop manual with my dad’s socket set.
I’m of firm belief that if you ever want to learn…
I told this somewhere around here, so I hope I’m not repeating myself, but it is definitely my mother’s 1969 Dodge Charger. Yeah, think Duke Boys.
Well, her father owned a dealership in a little town called New Boston, Texas, and brought a showroom model home for her with the 426 Hemi when she was about 17. My mother…
