That was what made it funny! It was very real and idiosyncratic — he took that as a nice way of reinforcing his fragile male ego, like "I'm not really getting rejected because she's not into guys anyway!" That was one of the few things about this episode I liked, and one of the few little interesting bits of

Not a fair comparison, because The Expanse is Syfy's prestige show with lauded special effects much better than any other space show on TV right now IIRC, and it's rumored that they spend a lot more money on that than on any of their other shows, several of which are cheap acquisitions from Canadian networks. (Check

Don't forget "The Green Death", where an evil corporation's AI dumps toxic waste (and this was back in 1973, when environmentalism was really new) that creates giant maggots. Good times!

Wait, was he a henchman of Blojobfeld?

Eh, there's not nearly enough Claudia Black. But I suppose that's better than no Claudia Black at all.

Holy shit, they've spread to Connecticut now? I sort of expect the bastards to burn up the FM dial in Flatbush and Newark at this point, but CT? Though I realize that might be near one of the few "rough" parts of Connecticut, like Bridgeport or whatever, but still… it's obviously gotten way too easy to order cheap FM

The word "cock" in "cock holster" was bleeped, so unless I'm wildly mistaken, the FCC can't do shit about this. Am I wrong here? Any counter-arguments?

Hells yes, Liz Shaw for the win! Season 7 of the classic series was one of its very best seasons.

It can be two universes.

I have to agree, although it's difficult to say if that 6 would have stuck together beyond 7 or 9 anyway. I'd speculate that the most likely outcome is that Water Felon Debbie would've gotten even smugger and more cocky and would have tried to take out Brad at 7 or 9, and it would've backfired on her and she would've

Lately many parts of Bensonhurst contain an interesting hodgepodge of Chinese, Turkish, Russian, Georgian, Guatemalan, and various other immigrants and businesses. It's fun to just walk down 86th St. under the elevated D train and just check out all the different kinds of restaurants.

Definitely one of the more realistic Manhattan apartments I've seen on TV, but maybe still a little bit too big given that it appears to be located in Chinatown. OTOH, IT guys make decent money, and everything looks bigger on TV, and more importantly it has the proper dark, dim, sort of rundown quality.

I was talking more about the third season than the fourth, and the third season finale doesn't make it clear at all that he's dead, or there's no clear indication the main characters should've assumed that, anyway.

Generally anything written by Chibnall falls apart even quicker or isn't even as interesting in the first place — heck, does the overly-lauded season 1 of Broadchurch even have a plot? — so I, for one, am probably going to miss the Moff. But here's hoping Chibnall proves me wrong.

Prior to watching this, I stumbled across some spoilers indicating the episode would feature Movellans as well as Daleks. That made me a bit worried (though also interested to see if Movellans could be rehabilitated in some way so that they wouldn't be completely pathetic). I love it when spoilers (that I didn't mean

Good point, sometimes the music is fair enough, occasionally even lovely (if lacking some subtlety IMHO), but the mixing is really the bigger problem. It's just mixed way too loud. Maybe the sound editors are a big part of the problem here.

I vaguely recall liking the Target* novelization of Ghost Light — unlike most of the them, it's written by the original scriptwriter, it adds a lot of context, and clears up some fuzzy details. The TV version is great but confusing to me. I was really disappointed to read somewhere that there was extra footage that

I don't fully understand why, but apparently it takes them 10 months or more to film 12 episodes (I'm not sure if that includes the Xmas specials), whereas North American shows can usually film each episode in less than two weeks.

I'd heard this show was good, but when I finally watched it, I was mostly disappointed, though probably I'm looking at it too much from a modern viewpoint. I had no problem with the quarries, the monster costumes, the dodgy effects, etc. (I was used to all of that from Pertwee and Tom Baker episodes of DW.) My problem

"Murray Gold’s incidental music doesn’t help here, too often cuing viewers’ emotions without giving them any space to arrive at their own reactions."
