I've been trying to listen to as much of the WFMU fundraising marathon as possible. It's weirdly addictive, unlike other radio stations' pledge drives, which are usually excruciating. The banter and the sense of camaraderie are great.

Unless I'm wildly mistaken, QVC pays the cable/satellite companies to be carried, not the other way around. So theoretically, the presence of QVC would be *lowering* your bill (ha ha, as if the cable companies are actually passing that savings along to you). Or in any case, not raising it.

This list might make the Ex look like a bunch of dinguses but they are actually really good musicians. Check out their mind-blowing collaboration with Ethiopian legend Getatchew Mekurya:

Wait, so classic rock radio stations have STOPPED playing "Where the Streets Have No Name" every hour on the hour? Great googly-eyed Jebus, I don't recognize this planet anymore.

Oh wow, I thought I was the only one. Did it turn you into a gibbering wreck curled up in a ball on the couch for 24 hours? That's what happened to me. And I hated the time dilation. It seemed like 24 DAYS. And they say this stuff is harmless!

I remember looking forward to "Whoops" and thinking it might be really interesting, but it had really terrible production values, even for a 90s Fox sitcom. There was nothing even remotely serious about the pilot, nor anything funny. The set looked pathetic and there was no location shooting.

Wasn't that an episode of Bojack Horseman?

Yeah, because so many other middle-aged Best Supporting Actress winners have made out like bandits in the totally sexism-free entertainment industry after getting their Oscars. Um, no. She's going to collect her paycheck and put it in the bank and be glad to be employed, even though this show blows goats.

I agree that everything filming in L.A. *was* annoying back when that was the case.

I didn't think Arizona had those for TV production…?

I doubt they could afford her, nor do I imagine she wants to do it (too much work, why not do movies and occasional awards gigs instead?). They're looking for a much lesser-known personality, like Stewart and Kilborn were when they started.

Only one block? He got ripped off.

Jessica Williams, Aasif Mandvi, bring Wyatt Cenac back and have him do it. As long as it's not Jason Jones or Samantha Bee. They tell jokes like somebody swatting a fly with a Buick.

There's some speculation that they've given John DiMaggio a reduced role because he's so busy doing voices for about 10,000 other shows. Seriously, check out his entry on IMDB, he's in like half the animated shows on television.

You just gave me a horrifying vision of a nightmare universe where Chris Carter is writing AT episodes (UGH) and the arc episodes of AT are as bad as the ones on X-Files were, with every arc episode ending with the pointless death of anybody who can provide any real answers, and Finn depressingly sent back to square

Are you in some location where it's already out? Here in the U.S., only charmless loads of old shit, dysfunctional sacks of seagull colons, and putrid vats of fish cloaca are released into movie theaters in January and February (except for Oscar bait from December that's expanding into additional locations). So

Season 6 isn't anywhere near the depths to which the show can sink. At least it had some interesting ideas and a few funny bits here and there. Get ready for some horrifying shit, some real later-Simpsons-years-style plummeting in quality.

I have a pair of the perhaps-legendary Sony MDR-V6s that have to be from 1992 or so. They're still great — granted, though, I don't use them very often, so that may be why they haven't worn out yet. And they could definitely use some duct tape.

Coming soon to CBS:

Nicola is undoubtedly a sweet and lovely person but the unreconstructed decaying corpse of Benny Hill would have a better American accent than Nicola Bryant.
