B+ for both episodes. I love these episodes to pieces and when I saw them in 2005, I was SO delighted that Doctor Who was back on the air again after 16 years, and with above-average, accessible writing, up-to-par production values, and great acting, too. So I'm tempted to give them both an A, but the plots are paper

Not a bad comparison, but we don't film anything in Delaware (no tax incentives there, I guess), and Delaware is definitely not as beautiful as Wales based on the location shots I've seen in DW episodes. Maybe Toronto would be a better comparison? A lot of "American" genre shows are filmed there and they almost NEVER

What Sharculese said. NYC is not great for D.C. but it's waaaaaaaaay better than fucking L.A. No fucking palm trees!

I like it a lot for the funny banter between the two main characters and the clever use of future technology. The plots are nothing revolutionary so far, but with the future tech, there are actually a couple of interesting IDEAS in there, which is different. Last night's episode was the best one so far, better than

Like a lot of shows filmed in Vancouver, the show exists in Random Unnamed American City That Looks Like Vancouver, But It's Definitely Not Vancouver, Nope, No Way, Because This Show is American, Goddammit, Not Some Foreign Commie Thing From Up North.

Even when it got good, I don't think S3 was usually up to the level of S1 or S2, but it had its moments. Also, it didn't start to improve until about episode 7 or 8 or so.

I could be wrong (?) but I don't think there are any tax incentives for filming in D.C. so he's going to be disappointed on that score, but there ARE big, big tax incentives for filming in Maryland and some of Maryland looks very similar to D.C. As a native Marylander, I hope you don't think that's a terrible idea. It

Looking forward to this. And as a bonus, this date serves as a very strong hint as to when season 8 of Doctor Who will premiere.

An average TWD episode is not average. At least not up until season 3, at best. An average TWD episode is poor. An average episode of something better is average.

The scripts for the Rani's episodes were terrible but the character had a lot of potential. Also, Kate O'Mara was very good, despite the awful writing she was saddled with. I'd also love to see Romana.

Um, I love Tom Baker's Doctor, but did anybody else think that he REALLY overplayed that? That was much more season 17 (maybe plus even more extra layers of ham) than season 12-14 or 18. Did the director not have the stones to tell him to ease up a bit? Sheesh.

I'm wondering if Moffat added an extra Doctor because he has some grand plan for an epic storyline to add more regenerations to the Doctor's life. If Capaldi is actually #13 then an epic quest (maybe by a group of the Doctor's friends and companions, past, present, and future, maybe even without his knowledge) is

So this was filmed in 2012 and isn't going to be released until 2015? What's wrong with it?

Yeah that would've worked too, assuming they have the same kind of tax incentives as North Carolina. I've only noticed one thing (a movie, can't remember which one) filmed in WV lately though. Whereas NC has lots of filming (Banshee, Sleepy Hollow, Under the Dome, Revolution, etc. etc. etc.), and TN has had a couple

Holy shit. The fact that a reasonable browser that works properly can be considered a "huge compliance breach" is beyond my comprehension. Just reason #183491238949 why I don't work in finance. Are you at LEAST up to IE 9 yet or are you stuck with the earlier abominations?

Sneak in a portable version of a decent browser on a USB stick, maybe?

Wait, wait, what's this add-on? Please share.

What, you don't like sci-fi? Yeah, it's 50 years old. But hold on, nobody said it had been "on for 50 years."

Sundance, not IFC! Sundance!

I love this show, but I have to agree about Fonseca. She has just never, ever been believable to me. If they'd had somebody GOOD in that role, the show would have been even better. Incalculably better, I'd say. Can you imagine if somebody like, hmm, Sarah Shahi had been playing that role? I mean, woah.
