There's money, but less than you would imagine. Younger-skewing shows with much smaller overall ratings, like Fox's New Girl or Bob's Burgers, command higher ad rates than a lot of CBS's older-skewing procedurals. And that's even though most of those current CBS procedurals do NOT skew anywhere near as old as Murder

Friends frequently pops up on the daily top 100 cable shows. I'm pretty sure whatever channel is currently airing it (Nick at Nite?) has paid the WB (producer of Friends) a pretty penny for those syndication reruns and wouldn't be too keen on sharing them with NBC. That said, the rating is usually around 0.6-0.7 in

I'm not quite as down on this show as you are, but I agree 1500% on the cinematography. In a previous thread, I said the cinematography made it look like a syndicated 90s action show like Mutant X, especially in the first two episodes. This episode might have been worse — instead of brain-meltingly garish and colorful

Who sent the giant lizard replicants? WHO SENT THEM? Story arc!!

I wonder if they're going to follow up on this with a Reign of Gunters II type episode, where the penguins go berserk with power again, or start getting weird mental illnesses from the crown, or maybe a comedic episode where the Gunters are revealed to have built a wacky penguin-statue-filled Ice Kingdom that's

Did you get past the first three episodes of S3? Or do you just prefer the more normal/conventional, less experimental episodes? Your preference for S1 would seem to suggest that.

You're not alone there. I love P&R but I thought that episode was absolutely fucking terrible. I also love Tatiana Maslany but her subplot with Tom being a total jackass to her was a complete abomination. There were still some funny lines in the non-Tom parts, but somehow none of them landed and oddly I enjoyed them

Highly arguable.

There were a lot of good lines, so why did I hate this episode so much? Was it my bad mood? Or maybe the direction or the editing or the comic timing was off? I don't know. The script had good moments but something was horribly wrong.

They claim they can't do anything about it. It's all Disqus, the third party which operates these comments sections, here and for many other sites. Disqus "fixed" what wasn't broken & took away the old version. I'm not sure any other companies make better comments. Anyone?

LOL, if there were a way to "opt out" to the old version, we would have all already done it, I'm sure.

Supposedly some of their shows do extremely well on Netflix. Also, keep in mind that a 1.0 in adults 18-49 is also considered a very strong rating on cable. So the business model is probably not that much different than USA, FX, TNT, etc. The difference is that the CW surely doesn't get as much retransmission

Well, the difference in Canada is that it's on CTV, a major Canadian broadcast network. Or maybe THE major Canadian broadcast network.

Tampa?!? That explains it.

Your sense of humor is cliched, boring, and stupid. Acquire a new one.

This is CBS. Did you really expect it would go heavily into mythology this early in the season? There were a lot of stand-alone episodes early last year, too, except for the opening two episodes.

Advertisers don't care about total viewers, and they're the ones who pay for the shows. I'm not saying it's right, but that's how it is. Total viewership is just a trivia point, only good for bragging rights.

Ladders and black cats? Really? Are you dumber than a box of rocks? Most actors don't get the chance to appear on nearly this many TV shows. *Most TV shows fail.* All it means is that she has an excellent agent and/or casting people like her. If she was REALLY unlucky she would have never been cast in the first place,

Right, because CSI, The Big Bang Theory, Hawaii 5-0, and Grey's Anatomy all got canceled way too early. Not that I even care about her, but this meme is getting old.

I was disappointed they didn't go that route. That would make things more interesting, if there were lots of creepy talkers like her.
