You clearly don't live in NYC.

Yeah, it's gonna take them a LONG time to do all nine seasons, right?

Shhhh! Don't bring anyone's attention to this week's two episodes! We don't want any new potential Farscape fans to see these. Let's just bury these two episodes. No, don't talk. Just dig! Dig and bury! Put them down there… yep… right there, next to "Code of Honor," "Move Along Home," "The Muse," "The Gathering," "No

Same here! I couldn't take UK The Office at first. It took me about three or four tries. It seemed too mean-spirited and nasty at first. Then I really got into it.

If you must know, the problem is that I'm a stubborn bastard who refuses (or just keeps forgetting) to buy a new video card that can handle HD. Not to mention there are other problems with my desktop. You really don't want to know all the details.

Minor quibble: The article is titled "30 Foreign Series…" and then includes TV-movies. Come on, a TV-movie isn't a series. Those need their own separate article. You could include great American TV-movies that have never come out on DVD or streaming services as well. See, A.V. Club writers, I just gave you an idea for

Good stuff, once it got going. It aired here on BBC America, but the episodes ran longer than BBCA is accustomed to, so occasionally my DVR would cut off the endings of episodes because the schedule info was wrong. So that was frustrating. I wish BBCA would just roll with it when a British show is 60 minutes instead

"…much of the humor was just people being mean to each other."

Not so confusing: This article is simply not that well-researched.

I'm pleased to see the ratings indicate that the American public, as a whole, essentially just said  "fuck you, The Killing." It pulled 0.4 in adults 18-49. That's not very good for a premiere. (By comparison, Mad Men, which was never actually a huge blockbuster despite all the hype, got an 0.8.)

So, S4 was New Coke?

Yeah, he did a good job with that, except that he STILL can't pronounce "estrogen" correctly. (See his very first line of dialogue in Torchwood.)

Arrrrgh! This is all Ryan Gosling’s fault!

Unless I'm mistaken, this movie was supposed to come first, THEN "Cold Comfort," but the WB in the usual depths of their ignorance botched the episode order. It may make even less sense than when they aired "Holiday Knights" in September instead of close to Xmas, and before "Sins of the Father" or "Growing Pains."

Does Lena Dunham pack each episode of her show with heaps and heaps of red herrings? (I've only seen the pilot of Girls, so seriously, does she? Um, I mean, I know it's not a mystery, but still, is there a comedy-drama equivalent to endless red herrings, and if so, has Girls found it?)

Not that I'm bitter or anything, but if Smith thinks he's going to make it big in Hollywood, he's in for a nasty shock. They don't really hire weird-looking dudes like Matt Smith much in Hollywood. Unless he just wants to do character actor bits in indie flicks and things produced and/or directed by Gosling. Soon

@avclub-55ab1e0836b46cc575ee502254e68ea9:disqus I can't imagine Laurie would take the job given that he's a relatively big star now, but I'm sure the BBC would love to have him if they could afford him. "Too associated with House" might actually work in the show's favor for getting Laurie though, because (pure

If you go by ratings, Davison definitely left the show in better shape than he found it. Season 18, Tom Baker's final season, dipped sharply in the ratings. You can argue this is entirely because there was a short-lived craze for Buck Rogers on ITV in the UK which season 18 was pitted against, but nonetheless, after

The fact that Kate Orman, a truly great Doctor Who novel writer, has an essay in this book almost immediately makes me sympathize with the book and against the Daily Mail. Of course I am already inclined to dislike the Daily Mail anyway, though I'm an American so I don't have much exposure to it. Is it as bad as the
