Thanks. I also wonder if there are any foreign versions of Survivor either in English, or available somewhere with English subtitles. Anybody seen the French version, filmed in Cambodia? It recently came up in the news when the most recent season got cancelled before airing because a contestant died of a heart attack

The interesting element of this episode nobody else has mentioned so far is that Erik really came to life without Secret Agent Goat around to harass him. I knew S.A.G. was a huge drag but I didn't know he cowed Erik THAT much. Wow! It doesn't seem like this was editing, either. I bet Erik really didn't speak much in

The producers are addicted to the "will they flip or NOT?" suspense but it doesn't work if they keep doing it and then nobody actually flips 90% of the time. Lazy production/editing decisions.

@avclub-b438234660b05ac0fa7c13ec58bec06b:disqus I saw Fiji several months ago, and I liked it a lot better than China. It's very interesting post-merge, where almost everybody was actually trying to play the game (not always well, but trying), and Yau-man is completely awesome.

@avclub-60834bec2156664276da2026a904fc81:disqus Producers' interference in Gabon? Really? Is that just a suspicion or is there somewhere I can read more concrete info about this? I want some dirt!

Ha ha, I suspected that, but I didn't want to say it because I didn't want to get Supernatural fans angry! Yep, I'm a straight guy, so the man candy doesn't do it for me. So perhaps therein lies the problem. And the rare female characters on this show don't seem particularly interesting.

I tried watching some of S1, S2, and early S3 of Supernatural, including some of the best-liked episodes, and I didn't dig it at all. Aren't those supposed to be the best seasons? Does it ever get any better?

OMG, thank you for laying out all the faults and confusions of Kenzi's weird storyline. I thought maybe I had missed something or that I was going insane. I really wanted a coherent follow-up to Kenzi's mysterious rash. Dramatically, there needed to be a price she'd have to pay for destroying the Norn. But nope, the

There's a simpler explanation for that: "Evicted!" was supposed to be episode 1x03 and "Tree Trunks" was supposed to be episode 1x16. Cartoon Network just didn't air a lot of season 1 in the correct order. Whereas these other examples involve the producers going nuts and following up on things very, very late.

Yep, and just based on upcoming episode titles, I surmise a future episode will take place in the middle of "Reign of Gunthers," or that's my educated guess.

I agree. This seemed like an outtake from season 2 that didn't originally make the cut or something.

I really liked the idea of Lexx. It had some cool, bizarre designs, weird humor, and creepy villains. But the show often disappointed me. Season 2 was the best from my perspective, because Mantrid worked really well, so I'd say that was worth watching. But too many of the characters were hollow. Stanley was often not

I agree on "Taking the Stone" and "Coup by Clam." Those are definitely much worse than "Jeremiah." Also, "Twice Shy," "Mental as Anything," "Dream a Little Dream," and nobody else has mentioned it so far, but also "Picture If You Will," for reasons that I'll get into later. Plus, "Dream" and "Picture" are such a waste

Agreed on "The Locket," but I get the impression that you and I are alone on that one. Although I dislike "Taking the Stone" and "Dream a Little Dream" more.

Besides the pronunciation, the reference to Metebelis 3 was also pretty odd considering that "Planet of the Spiders" was TERRIBLE. Six interminable and poorly-acted and overindulgent 25-minute episodes. "Hide" was SO much better than that! But then, if you're a DW writer, maybe you should only reference bad or

The TARDIS could get out of the pocket universe because Emma was holding open the wormhole for it to escape. I got the impression the TARDIS was physically flying through the wormhole to get out of the pocket universe (rather than dematerializing and rematerializing, which it apparently couldn't do from that side).

Now they're trying to pull the same crap on Latinos with a new George Lopez sitcom on FX. It's also using the 10/90 instant syndication model.

Didn't it get canceled? I was a little bummed out by that.

Agreed 100%. Mark Gatiss always delivers a dull and predictable episode (although "Unquiet Dead" had its moments, but I was probably just still overjoyed that the show was back from the dead when I saw it). If he takes over as showrunner, I'll be appalled.

As a longtime Whovian, I'm not feeling the last several episodes eitherm, even though I like Smith and Coleman a lot. I think they're trying to do too much in just 42 minutes each week. Eliminating all two-parters has been a total goddamn catastrophe for the show IMHO.
