@avclub-eac75edc18b8546c46893fe4b75ab995:disqus Yeah, strange, right? But movie studios actually do these weird holiday dumps often. Or maybe they're lame attempts at counter-programming. I think every year, at either Thanksgiving or Xmas, or sometimes both, there's a dump-y, low-budget action movie or horror movie

The WB should've aired this episode as the season premiere (or a Robin-less episode like "Joker's Millions," followed by this one). It should also be first on the DVDs. Maybe the problem is that this episode is so boring and lackluster. Maybe they thought "Holiday Knights" would be a more exciting season premiere, but

Well I *am* a critic (amateur, not pro) and I agree that this was a thrilling episode, much more exciting than most recent episodes. Even if the villain's plan was overly convoluted. (And it's hard to imagine anybody getting shot by snipers in Bryant Park, but kudos to them for actually filming it in Bryant Park.)

Where are all the silly complaints that Last Resort is in a DEATH SLOT!!!!! on Thursdays at 8 and would've been a huge hit IF ONLY they'd aired it at 10 p.m.? (Or whatever other random timeslot.) I kinda like the show, but really, Thursday at 8 was the best they could do, I think. On Sundays, Sunday Night Football

It's fully serialized, but it's absolutely fucking awful. I have no idea why its ratings are so high.

@avclub-92a4841c9f86965effbc29fa6eae9f77:disqus Yeah, on this show he is! Well, as "personality free" as Terry O'Quinn can get. He's trying to do a subtle Satan (or arch-demon, whatever). What??! Who tries to make Satan subtle!? Come on! John Glover and Ray Wise were much, much, much better televised Satans because

@avclub-489acfbfa4d2424403acb81699170ac2:disqus That's because Fringe — as much as I love it — has gotten pretty terrible ratings since season 3, and Fox has inexplicably continued to renew it anyway, to my surprised delight. Maybe it gets a lot of viewers who make $100k+/year or another of those obscure metrics that

Don't get too excited, it's not a FULL full-season order. It's something like a back four or back six order (beyond the initial 13-episode order) for a total of 17 or 19. So, kind of a half-measure from Fox, and not a good sign that it'll get a second season. The most recent rating for the show in the A18-49 demo was

Ah, I see. Yes it's easy to miscount.
