Blizzard still uses torrents to serve their updates. We just don’t see it because the technology is hidden from view.

The sorcerer changes feel very much Blizzard said“We designed all these cool spells please use things besides chain lightning!”

And we all said no.

So they made the decision for us.

Except by that logic any game that ever shows up on torrents would need to be removed by Valve.

Torrents aren't just used for pirating. Many tech communities use it as an alternate firm to distribute their own software and for a long time Blizzard used the tech to update their games. It's only piracy if the distributor doesn't own the rights to the software being distributed

Why would Valve give a shit about it? They aren’t publishing it, they don’t own the IP aside from being a potential store front Valve has nothing to do with the game. Hell it's not even the first game where devs have released a game via torrents.

Torrenting isn’t just for piracy wtf are you on about.

Nexon IS incompetent

Hopefully they can get back on steam. The idea that a giant company like Nexon could have a handful of employees scalped to another company, steal assets, and release what is apparently a fairly enjoyable early access title before Nexon even announced it would indicate that Nexon is incompetent.

Yeah, it just refers to any content that’s playable/repeatable after the traditional end of the game (last boss/dungeon/etc.). Ironically, a lot of games base their whole core around what happens after that point, so if anything, it’s the begingame and everything prior is... the prologue?

as someone who doesn’t play this type of game, and is old, i am confused by the term ‘endgame.’ to me ‘endgame’ means like, the end of a game (like last dungeon or whatever). it doesn’t seem to mean that in these games though lol

No, this is dumb. Fuck this.

Thank you, that’s how I tend to react to. I’ve managed to start playing games later, but even then I can’t compel myself to take them as seriously and wind up dropping them. If you’re going to add new content, don’t pull this time limited nonsense that screws over anyone who doesn’t log in every day.

This. Games were already a timesink, but now they are demanding time not on our terms, but our time on their terms, which is disgusting to me.

This is...awful? FOMO is a huge problem for me, it’s one of the reasons I quit Destiny 2. Quit Division 2. Quit Overwatch. Quit Hearthstone. My broken brain won’t allow me to miss a season or event, and if I do—because IRL gets busy or another game comes out—then it’s over. There’s no catching up. I missed a

Cool, so I’ll see you in a year when the price has dropped to $35 and all the content that should have been released day one is now available.

PvE when?

KiraTV just dropped a pretty good breakdown of the publisher of this game and a bunch of other similar titles, and their ongoing policy of wringing every bit of money possible out of the games they own and dropping anything that won’t meet their bottom line. Then again, we knew Ark was a scam when it dropped paid DLC

Or, option #3 where they roll back everything and start from scratch again.

I don’t see this changing anything. Dolphin has been available for PC, Mac, Linux and Android for years. It’s even on the Google Play store with MILLIONS of downloads.

They’ll almost certainly try something, this is a pretty direct threat to their shitty online service.
