boring for a yankees fan. sure, it is what it is, but for fans of small market clubs, it is the reason every year starts as an uphill battle. miss on one or two high priced free agents and you’ve dug a hole that’ll cost you years to dig out of. fail to develop internal talent and you’re hopeless - and even when you do

They have the second highest payroll in MLB and they are in a rebuilding phase. They are a Bryce Harper free agent contract away from being the highest payroll in baseball again.

“It’s been rough stretch for the Yankees and particularly for Carter, who was pegged by Deadspin as a savvy if perhaps unnecessary offseason signing.”

You’re forgetting that in that 3-2 Angels loss he also came to the plate in extra innings with runners on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out and meekly popped up to short. It was some of his best contact in weeks.

Mendoza? Come on now, that crosses the line...

Poor Yankees. They can only afford a $200M payroll. How can you expect them to find a competent first baseman?

That motherfucker has owed me $5 for five years.

That’s funny, I’ve heard that Euron doesn’t care too much for you either.

I’m dying to see the explanation of how the depleted Lannister Army is any kind of threat to the essentially untouched armies of the Stormlands, Dorne and the Reach.

Republican congresspeople aren’t going to spurn the vote of a Democrat who intends to vote with them to lower taxes, and Democratic congresspeople aren’t going to insult and repudiate the vote of a Republican who votes with them in favor of marriage equality.

Few things anger me more than how the Washington media covers politics. “This policy plays well with xyz voter base” - no, fuck that, tell me how it will impact them. This isn’t basketball and gutting government under the guise of “tax reform” isn’t the goddamn NBA draft and shouldn’t be covered like it’s a game

The primary issue is that over the course of the last ~50 years the two major parties have worked harder and harder on eliminating any overlap, any level of even-possible compromise, on social or economic issues. That’s what the “bipartisanship” of 50 or even 20 years ago is a reference to: it’s not that people used

This may be true for YOU and YOUR political views, but there are plenty of people out there who aren’t on the fringes of politics and prefer a more centrist, moderate approach. There is nothing wrong with wanting, say, pro-choice rights for women, marriage equality, AND lower taxes and smaller government.

Cool. Still not gonna tip

I can’t believe they’re not taking into consideration the fact that Mrs. Met just left him for a guy with a giant jai alai ball for a head.

bhahaha corner camping has turned into Jet pack wall camping.

Wow, people still play Infinite Disappointment?

see, NoOnesPost is what you would call a poseur, they sound off concise and sarcastic phrases in an attempt to sound smart and humorous and above-it-all, when what they are actually being is lazy and insecure. they lurk in these parts.

One thing I feel like is missing from these comments and the article. Is that the sculpture was pushed as “part playground.” Can you imagine installing a replica of a Nazi crematorium in the same way and not consulting any Jewish groups?

There’s certainly nothing wrong with disagreeing with a piece of art, and I definitely see their point. But removing art because some people disagree with it is... worrisome to me.
