Now, hand out Jalopnik trophies/levels based on how many configurations readers have owned.

I’ve only owned 2: a single front-engine, RWD vehicle, and five front-engine AWD vehicles.

I’m sure many of you can beat that... has anyone here owned all 5? :)

But the 2014 Foresters are ugly.

Hm. What exactly do you classify as ‘running’? I mean, all my cars technically *run*. Like, the engine will start. Sure, the one has a ton of rod knock and is currently so stuck in our back 40 that it won’t be coming out until spring and maybe even not then, but it still *runs*...

I drive a 2005 Subaru Legacy. Not the turbo one, but it’s AWD, manual trans, and a wagon, which I think makes it fairly cool. After some wheels, coilovers, tint, and a few other bits, I was quite happy with my new ride.

Then I show my cousin. He’s more of the traditional type; big trucks are cool, SUVs are okay, sports

In my area (Southern Ontario), this car would be well over $5k.

I just bought an ‘05 wagon this spring. Manual trans, 149k kms. $4,000 safetied & etested (southern Ontario).

I had someone tell me this a few years ago, but I assumed it was a myth. David Brown made those ugly old tractors, not Astons. I had meant to look it up later, completely forgot about it until now... was a bit surprised to learn my friend was right!

I like the Uplander, and here’s why: Occasionally on long trips, we play the Alphabet game, but instead of seeing letters, you have to see a car that the make or model starts with that letter. So Audi, BMW, Crown Vic, Durango, Elantra, Ford, etc... Guess what letter is hardest? Yup... U. I have literally cried for joy

Saving money keeps me happy... and being able to shove all kinds of stuff in the back end of the thing makes me happy :D

...but yeah... I added wheels & coilovers, and an exhaust is coming... so it’s pretty fun, even tho it’s the non-turbo one

...I’m not even a proper adult yet, and I drive a Subaru station wagon... I might be doing this wrong?

Definitely. Most LeMons racers consider the Index of Effluency (prize given to a car that should’ve been absolutely terrible but actually did ok) as the actual top prize; it’s more coveted than the actual winner-on-laps award.

I believe that cosmetic modifications are budget-exempt. So basically, if they got the Rabbit for $500, they can spend however much they want to make it look like a sideways Type 2, as long as it isn’t actually faster than the original $500 Rabbit would’ve been.

Not a Hellcat 124, just a bigger-engined 124. I personally think the 2.9 v6from the Giulia Quadrofoglio would be perfect. A 500hp 124 would be crazy fun. Slot it around $75k, would be a worthy competitor to the F-type, Boxster, Corvette, whatever else is in that price range....

You’re right, it does have modes that completely disconnect the front wheels. So ignore that point. But still, the auto trans leaves me thinking there’s better options...

Well, I’m Canadian, so I mostly use Kijii :)

...but yes... I currently on 4 vehicles, really never meant to own more than 2.

Why stop at just 2 cars? Look for things like the BMW 750i, Jaguar XJ12, and Mercedes S600... you could probably buy like 50 of them!

Not manual, not RWD...

Not a V12, not a manual, not RWD...

Why would you buy a Hyundai Tiburon when you could get a nice bicycle for the same price?
