hard to beat an evo 9. 20k gets you a damn nice one if you shop around. i’d get a 6 speed if you plan to do much highway driving. it will daily just as well as it will beat up on porsches at track days. i love mine (i’ve had 35 cars).

i recall the r8s engine was off center as well.
love my 9. still does quite well at the local roadcourse.
hmm what search engine is that? when i search autotrader, 500mi radius of your zip i see one car under 40k? locally (san fran) theyre 45+.. most are 50-70.
ive had a lightly modified evo9 for 3 years and absolutely love it. what a brilliant car. go get the x, just make sure it’s a manual. =)
what’s wrong with that? it’s using tire size to tune chassis dynamics. just like your m3, which has larger tires out back to counter a cars tendency to oversteer by increasing rear grip. here we have larger front tires to minimize understeer.
a pro driver buddy described the latest gen haldex cars as driving like ‘fwd cars with infinite traction’ - which is an excellent description of the car, dynamically. i’m with you on ‘real’ quattro (full time mechanical) but it sounds like haldex has come a long way since the early implementations.
that must have been an awkward conversation
the redone version on netflix is actually really good..
right. using public resources to secure a private loss. =/
i just got an oris big crown propilot. just as nice looking and nearly as nicely made for 1/10th the price.
how can i add this feature to my evo?
it’s pre-reuined so you don’t have to spend a bunch of money on aftermarket horseshit.
thats the train tunnel in truckee isnt it?
agreed. for a guy known to obsess over minutiae, it’s strange he goes for very off the shelf and tacky looking wheel designs. i mean they’re not terrible, but not congruous with the rest of the car.
someone’s an archers of loaf fan...
you sir, win the internet today.
they are called vortex generators. if you drive one, the 9 is the sweet spot. i love mine as i’ve only loved a few things. wonderful, ridiculous car. http://bpi-us.com/papers/vortexg…
and singer the second. i mean you’ll need something to tow..
in my experience with both, the exact opposite is true.
