This looks decidedly bad, but I do kinda like the idea of a text adventure game with a boss battle.

Can’t we go back to making movies and shows about fake crime? It’s way less depressing.

A factionalized version of the story (tastelessness aside) could make for an interesting 80-minute movie, a boring 110 minute movie, or a bonkers 150 minute movie. At 8 hours they might as well commit to doing the story in real time.

I have tried to watch Euphoria once or twice but it’s so dark and harrowing I had to stop after a while; stretching this awful story out for 8 hours seems like self-torture.

There is so much competition for userbase now it’s wild a dev would risk losing it. People don’t care THAT much about your game, there are thousands of other games people want to play as well these days, giving them an excuse to do so is insane.
