The One True Opinion

Man, I’m jealous of all you people who still have excellent food courts. Nearly every mall in my city survives to this day, but their food courts have all seen better days. Half the spots are empty and the other half are filled with foreign stuff I’m scared to gamble on.

Conservatives watch Tim & Eric?

I’ve got my Wii U still plugged in because Netflix still isn’t on Switch!

I think you mean Lauren Tom....Amy Tan is someone else.

No, Bryan Adams did.

Worst case scenario: this works. Something really cheap and dumb catches on and becomes culturally huge, causing the other streamers to think “hey, we don’t have to make good shows to be successful anymore!” and fill their budgets with knockoff garbage. GLOW is cancelled and “World’s Wackiest Tractor Accidents” is

“Auuuuuuuuuuuuuu fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuudge.”

All the GMG sites wrote about this video today. This take is the worst of them.

Bingo. In addition, making fun of everybody doesn’t mean the show has no morals or doesn’t take a stand on anything. It’s taken quite a few blunt stands over the years.

I can assure you none of this is on their minds. What they’re 100% focused on is the sappy feel-good melodrama potential, which their audience laps up like a cat on cream. It is kinda tone deaf, but so was their Columbine movie.

This kind of cutthroat exploitation race reminds me of the heyday of network TV movies in the 90s. There were THREE competing movies about Joey Buttafuoco airing on the same weekend.

I remember a commenter on this site saying “Every twelve year old is a fascist.” It was one of the most profound statements of truth I’d ever read.

Wish I’d thought of that.

Do kids today care about Goosebumps?

Star Ocean was granted a miracle chance when it was given a PS4 sequel. it blew that chance with the worst game in the series, so it was banished to mobile.

And then pivoting Kinja to video!

I wouldn’t be surprised to someday read the headline “Hamilton Nolan Blows Up Mansion” or someone’s yacht or limo, or possibly the entire New York Stock Exchange. With nothing else to do with his time, he’s finally gonna snap.

If this means the end of Kinja, an uncoupling from the aggressively political sites and a return to the nerd-targeting film and television analysis work this site used to do so well.....then I’m not only for this sale, I’m busting out the party hats!

Wow, and if The Meg does well, we could actually get that adapted. I’m buying my ticket already!
