I did the exact same thing. During my practice runs, I would constantly run outside the lines.. it wasn’t until it actually counted where the thought of going into second gear came into my head and it worked like a charm.

I didn’t realize there was a race series just for relatives of Pastor Maldonado. this is awesome!
