@Whitson Gordon: I had the correct .apk file, but it looks like something went wrong with my download. Redownloaded and it installed just fine. Thanks for the legit suggestion though.
@gregivq: You're oh so right. I obviously didn't think to google this when I had a problem installing. /sarcasm. Maybe you should try reading through someone's comment history before making yourself look like an ass.
@venc: I do have unknown sources enabled. It just tells me the install package is an unknown file type.
I can't get this to install on my Droid. I'm giving up until someone else figures it out...
@Avedis: Thanks for the suggestion. I'll keep it in mind if I ever need it. Fortunately, I LOVE driving around with the windows down, so it's a very rare occasion that I turn on my AC anyway.
Many of you must have amazing air conditioners. I can turn mine on its highest setting and the seat stays hot for at least 20 minutes. Sweaty back is gross...
@burlives: I already have it on 2 of my 3 Gmail accounts as well, but like you, not my main account. I'm just eager to see first hand how well it works alongside my Google Voice account.
I'm starting to feel as if I am the only one who hasn't had this feature rolled out to my account yet. *head scratch*
@cronoklee: Yea after looking around a bit a found that I can't use this because the newest versions of the Mac operating system have broken AppleTalk, which is the protocol used by the app.
@bayXSonic: Agreed, this is what I am most excited about! I feel like it might be time to finally stop giving out my cell phone number and switch to my Voice number for good.
@olugbam: My thoughts exactly. I've already started sending the AppBrain link to all my friends that I regularly need to send files to. It's already come in good use in the past 30 minutes!
@icantroll: No problem. I'll be waiting as well; hopefully this rolls out quickly!
I've got my plugins installed. Hopefully this feature will hit my account soon. I can't wait to start playing around with it.
@icantroll: You only need gmail and the plugin, but any call you make will show up on a caller ID as a generic number that cannot be called back. If you have Voice, it will use that number.
@IamFuzzles: Unfortunately, no. It places everything in a folder labeled "drop" on the root of the SD card. That is the first feature I thought I'd like to see in a future update. Another would be the ability to send files in the opposite direction with the same ease (phone-computer).
AppBrain Link for those who aren't browsing on their phone.
@crichton007: I know they were having some battery draining issues earlier, but I never noticed much difference on my phone. One of the recent updates was supposed to have fixed the issue and a lot of the forum posts confirmed that the battery drain is much better now.
@ddhboy: Ironically, every issue you just mentioned has been fixed with the latest update. They've got the notification controls in place and you can now change the text size easily. You can now set the update rate as well. And I'm starting to sound like I work for them...
