@ajscarvalho: It has access to your contacts to give you the option to send a barcode that you create to a contact. It's been useful to me on a few occasions. I do agree with the sentiment that many apps ask for access to parts of your phone that they just shouldn't need, though!

It's still in beta, but TweetDeck has already replaced most of my social apps. Of course, I'm already used to using TweetDeck on my desktop, so I'm more than comfortable with it on my phone...may differ for others! BTW, it's a manual install for the time being.

Just recently figured out how to do this. Now the LauncherPro People widget on my android phone is actually worth using. Before now only a few of my contacts in the widget actually had images.

@lament: Reading the comments on the linked Gawker post, it looks like it turned out that it really was a slowed down Bieber song all along. They posted an update that has the 35min version sped up. And I just listened to more Justin Beiber than I ever have before...thanks a lot Lifehacker...

@tabledrummer: I haven't tried it out in anything buy Firefox myself, but a quick google search suggests to me that there are ways to get FFixer to work in other browsers.

From the look of the samples you put up alone, I'd have to say that FFixer does a slightly prettier job of the same task. It is also a greasemonkey script and has worked very well for me over the past couple years or so.

@flyingwolf: Oddly enough, I am dyslexic. :-/

@cocomojoe2: I think it ranks among the best 3 dollars I've ever spent. Out of curiosity, which music widget are you using? I've found that the native one doesn't look too good when resized. I love all the widgets that come with Launcher Pro Plus though!

@Jordan Posey: I suppose you could name the shortcut to "Shit Hole" and hope the thief is a moron.

I set my home directions as the swipe action on the Maps icon in LauncherPro. It's useful and keeps my Droid homescreen nice and pretty.

@adam.plante: I think we don't necessarily have the same word in mind. Niggle and nigglet are both words in their own right. Related, yes, but not the same word.

@battra92: I'm not sure that I would categorize knowing the alternative meanings of a word as being over-sensitive, ignorant, or idiotic.

@rheostaticsfan: Niggle and nigglet (which Niggle It sounds like) both have their own negative meanings as well.

If I were to ever suggest this service out loud, I know of many people who would punch me directly in the face. I'm guessing they saw no negative connotation of calling their service "Niggle It"...

I think you really missed the how Woot actually fits into this Hive Five by not mentioning deals.woot.com. It includes a small list of Woot's own sponsored deals, plus a long list of user submitted deals which include discounts, free items, and coupon codes found around the net.

@minjin: Woot is a bit of an odd choice; deals.woot.com would have been a lot more appropriate.

@cocomojoe2: Very true....and I actually love that things are going in that direction. But so far, any of the cloud apps that have to do with music seem like such a hassle. I've got tons of music and, as of now, it just seems easier to keep it local. Perhaps it's not as difficult as I think and I just need to make the
