Like, for those of us with mental health issues, self-medicating is often the only relief we get and now she’s gone and they STILL wanna drag her for it... it makes me see red.

my point was that we need to look at the root of a lot of drug use, and provide support to addicts to avoid more death. addiction is a vicious cycle and is both the cause and the symptom of a lot of other problems...that’s all i was saying. her heart problems, her apnea, her mental health issues, and her addiction all

Addiction is a disease. Her life was cut short in part because of disease. We shouldn’t demonize her because the illness she had is less understood in society than something like cancer, but we also shouldn’t pretend that there aren’t health complications that can happen as a result of it.

I’m not sorry, that I will tell my goddaughter that she was not a good person, due to her personal choices.

yes! agreed! and i hope you don’t think i was downplaying or dismissing that. my point was that we need to look at the root of a lot of drug use, and provide support to addicts to avoid more death. addiction is a vicious cycle and is both the cause and the symptom of a lot of other problems...that’s all i was saying.

drugs kill us in more ways than OD and pretending otherwise is so nuts it makes me want to throw my computer against the wall.

i hope that maybe carrie’s life and death can fuel those conversations so that there is less stigma surrounding a number of issues that so many people face.

If only the same compassion and logic were applied to all addicts and people suffering from mental illness, regardless of fame or socio-economic status.

why do you think she was using drugs? for fun? doesn’t sound like you know much about the nature of addiction.

i could be wrong, but i think (and maybe a lot would agree) that carrie would want these conversations to happen now that she’s passed.

“I am not shocked that part of her health was affected by drugs,” he continued. “If you want to know what killed her, it’s all of it.”

Even in death the woman continues to be a catalyst for important discussions about women’s mental health, and addiction. Thank you Carrie.

I love me some RPDR, so I waded into the RPDR sub on Reddit....

Just hit the two year mark in not having seen/talked to mine. It sucks sometimes, because I hate that he’ll never know how badly he fucked me up, but at the same time, I get to laugh at how he and his wife are raising their daughter - in the world of child beauty pageants. Hahahahahaha. (I’m by far the most successful
