Rickman played a character that’s featured from the 1st book through the last and whose character arc is essential to the entire saga.

This story (and many others making the rounds) just seem to speak more to collective cultural illiteracy than anything about Oldman.

On the plus side, I did get to see that title image of him, where he looks like bewildered ex-despot on trial at the Hague. 

He’s said plenty disparaging about the Nolan trilogy, it’s just that you could hear it over the foley and soundtrack. 

This seems like such a non-story. Actor feels his performance was lacking, doesn’t criticize anyone but himself, feels need to clarify... something.

People need to chill. He’s a professional, he can feel whatever work of his he wants is mediocre. He didn’t even criticize the films (which, to be frank, have lots to criticize, the third one accepted), he just said his performance was mediocre. I disagree, but he’s the artist.

The cinematography was actually pretty great from what I can see in the trailer. It may not match up with the look from the films, but it’s far from utter shit.

I’m looking forward to it. I’m one of the like 30% of viewers that finished the first season and generally enjoyed it, despite the somewhat awkward choices they had to make with characters to account for the fact that they don’t have the rights to a lot of the stuff they’re kind of sort of referencing here and there.
