Speaking of “loaner” shirts: when I was in middle school, teachers would make you wear a shirt that said “LONER” in gym class if you forgot your p.e. uniform.

You actually do neither of those things. Just call home and tell the parent she can’t wear the shirt again. Sending her home causes her to miss class time (and is essentially a suspension) and giving her a loaner can be humiliating, when the child actually did nothing wrong. This is an adult issue.

Married heterosexual couples often do not produce children, whether through sterility or choice. And yet we do not require them to take medical tests to prove they are fertile before they get married. We also do not deny marriage licenses to senior citizens even though they can no longer reproduce.

It is so weird to me how people who don’t like gay people struggle so much with the definition of marriage. Not only has it evolved massively over time, it has had probably thousands of very different definitions based on culture, religion, and time period.
