Ok, so she kills Gyp but then what's her exit strategy. Pretty sure she realizes that once a gunshot is fired from the room that was only being occupied by herself and a crime boss, that it would be very quickly surrounded by a whole mess of goons with a whole mess of guns drawn.

He's providing details from the episode that underlie his point about how powerless Gillian has become. The gangsters have taken over her club, treat her like garbage, and now even her own grandson won't respond to her, not even with the promise of a ham sandwich, a dill pickle, a glass of milk, and Oreos.

So I kind of lost the thread on the whole Mellon distillery/Gaston Means part of the story. What does Mellon gain by making that call to Esther Randolph?

I assume there wasn't a podmass last week so I thought I'd bring up the awesome Phila Boy Roy call on the Best Show from the week before. My personal favorite was Roy's opinion on how the Hanover Fist punishment was pretty tame compared to what goes on today:

It's only a minor quibble, I like the show and Buscemi a lot.

The only time I've had an issue with him is in scenes where he's meant to be menacing, particularly ones where he is involved in physical altercations, which come off so silly. Last night I thought was perfect for him. Nucky's at his best when the conflict is non-violent, he shouldn't be have to be menacing. But…

Dang, I forgot about that shot of the burning building. Last week part of me was sure that's where this story line was heading, but I was hoping that we'd seen enough of LaDonna getting tortured… Alas, that promo is bad news.
