Who the F cares? It’ll make oil cheaper!
Personally, I love it. It’s like someone wearing a powdered wig in a show set 200 years ago, it’s just another reminder that they don’t live in the same time period and culture.
I didn’t even learn about this in an Engineering class! I learned about this in some grade school history class. C’mon, people. Are we really that stupid now?
I’m already sick of Star Wars. Marvel has taught be to hate the new world order of franchise movies.
They all need to see this video. Their minds will melt.
I think Casey Chan gets the most crap out of all the writers on here...lol
These stones are stacked precariously, you’ll never believe what happens next!
Ha u make up stupid sHit no1 wuld name new tech like thEse rocks a flying butTress (LOLOLOL butt shit GET IT) irregardlessly rocks cant fly. dUmbNut!!!!
That stone almost acts like a key. It’s some sort of stone-key.
The technology is about 3000 years old, you should get out more. There are plenty of structures in Europe, built using the same principle, the arch and everything is compression. They even have one that is Flying, (Flying Butress) that is.
Thats why I included the word “ignorant”. Look it up. Better yet, ask Siri, that way you won't have to use a keyboard or your fingers.
“Knowing More about something”—-just to say the obvious-this is an ARCH. How can anyone know how to read , be on io9, and not know what an arch is? Actually, people used arches long before reading so you don’t even need to be able to read to know what an arch is.
Thanks.
All this time I thought having not seen something before made you uninformed, not “stupid.”
It’s called an arch and the Romans did it!
Normally I would agree with you. But with this? Dude. Anyone who has gone to school and paid even a little bit of attention should know about this type of construction technique. You get at least two shots at it. History class and physics.
“Intellectual Apartheid”... you’re good!
Imagine if the ancients had this kind of technology! Whoa!
No, I’m pretty sure they saw “Home Alone” a couple dozen times.
Yes, but how could Romans know about the hover tunnel like 200 years ago?
