Anybody offer up Roady McRoadface yet?
In all seriousness, Harriett Tubman? Frederick Douglass? MLK? Ruby Bridges? Harriet Beecher Stowe? Rosa Parks? I’m sure they’re not Virginians, but neither was Reagan.

Women are half of a lot of things. Doesn’t mean we’re represented. It’s a problem. I hope it’s getting to be a smaller one.
I went to architecture school for a semester. It sucked. I was already 2 years into school and found out it was a 5-year program (strike one). Then I found out they make NO money when they graduate (strike two). Then I found out that you basically live at the design studio your junior and senior years (strike three).…
I’ve been thinking of getting a relatively cheap tablet for this. But I do feel like if this were mass marketed, it would be a major money maker.
I have a Silpat and I use it all the time. I love it. I have parchment, too. I use it all the time, too. My vote? Get both.
The slope isn’t as steep if you approach it that way... Think about if you were just walking horizontally across the slope - there’s no vertical gain at all. When you go up at a diagonal, you change the angle of the slope... It’s why you have switchbacks.
I find most things by rethinking through my day - not to where I broke my routine, just where was the last place I saw it and what did I do after that?
There’s a nationwide shortage of skilled labor. You’d think a JOBS president would be aware of that and try to start programs to encourage people to enter the skilled trades.
Please, tell me what kind of car you drive that gives you the turning radius to make a U-turn from the far left lane in one direction into the far left lane in the opposite direction. How wide do you think that median is? Further, what three lanes did the Smart Car driver cross? It appears in the video I watched that…
Colorado is terrible. Don’t come here. Bears all over the place. I had one in my car just this morning.
Can we talk about how the entry level LUXURY vehicle doesn’t come with leather as a standard? I don’t want to spend $40k for a car and get NuLuxe. And the package to add leather is $5k - it’s not a standalone option.
According to the results of the study, the best angle is actually 45* because lots of track panels have joints at 90* to the rails. Also, people tend to cross the tracks at the angle of approach of the trail. Check out the linked article from CityLab.
Slashed or not slashed, I really hope she wasn’t driving around on that tire. Anyone who looks at that tire and thinks, “Yeah, that’s safe...” is lacking in vehicular intelligence.

Also, you can tell country of origin from the first letter/number of the VIN. A 1 is the us, J is Japan, K is Korea... I don’t know all the others, but those are the ones I’ve seen the most. I…
I suppose I should do my own research, but wtf is the difference between Musk’s Boring Company and a standard issue Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM), the likes of which have been used to tunnel for The Alaskan Way Viaduct in Seattle, twin light-rail tunnels under Montlake Cut in Seattle, the Port of Miami Tunnel, etc. etc.…
My husband likes to say, “It’s four-wheel drive, not four-wheel stop.”
Similar, different, relevant.
Where do you keep your winter tires in the... not-winter? This is probably my biggest concern with going the snow tire route.
I’m super bummed because I was recently in Glenwood Springs and there was a poster in the bathroom about how to partake. I took a picture of it to show my husband because I thought it was funny, but I deleted it and it never made it to Google photos.
Third gear: I always thought there should be a weight sensor in the back like they have for airbags in the passenger seat. It could alarm you if you leave the car with something back there. You’d obviously have to be able to turn the alarm off in case you put a stack of books in the backseat or something. But,…
If you ever make strawberry jam, this is the way to go. When I was a kid, my aunt had jam-making parties and all the cousins had to do the hulling. She only had one or two of these and everyone else had to use their fingers. You couldn’t just chop the top off because that was eliminating too much usable strawberry.…
