Yesterday the first official cacaus was won by immigrants from Ethopia, they work at a meat packing plant, at night. They voted for Sanders, but instead of these amazing men and women, the IDP gave Trump a free shot. I’m so pissed.

How do you declare victory before the votes are official?
Iowa should not be first. Also, we need to have some straight accountability for our voting system. Last night hurt everyone, Sanders, but also everyone else, because it hurt confidence in our elections. I’m more dissappointed then I should be considering the likely result. But I can’t even gloat, because if our…
Yeah, that’s not helping anyone. I don’t agree with him goin at anyone like that. My gut says he’s young, and has been feelin’ himself over Sanders doing so well.
I think that there are a lot of angry disaffected people all over this country, and that all of us have said things we later regret, many of us to people we love. If I could apologize for all of them, I would, but it doesn’t work like that. Some are desperate, and some are angry, and some are lost.
We need dreamers, and hopers, we need doubters and realists. You and I don’t have to agree, thats the beautiful part of politics in a somewhat free democracy.
I hope people don’t think of me that way. I always try (and sometimes fail) to keep my arguments not personal, but about the policies and history of the people running. I think all of us can get heated, and lash out, and get defensive. I think that passion and that fight is important, because likely we aren’t like…
There will be days ahead for that, no question. But I’m choosing for myself to be about love today, because I love all my people that post on the root, the ones who infuriate and frustrate me most of all... and much love to the writers here, who I really enjoy reading and yes debating, because they have important work…
I think in there own weird way, those pushing back against Sanders and his supporters and even attacking disingenuously, are doing there part. They are keeping us sharp, helping to focus on the real issues, reminding us where we might be. Some are just paid trolls, others are just plain angry for various reasons.
I think he focuses on the hard facts about our society that lead to a belief that we can’t have equality because it’s too hard. That it’s ok that people die because they don’t have health care, that it’s ok that the superrich get to dominate our politics to our harm. I think he’s been about fighting for those who…
Tad, I feel your passion, but today lets focus on the work. Sanders needs some love and solidarity today.... I mean look at this:
Consistency... gotta respect that.
Exactly this. Primaries are about examining who we are and what we stand for. It’s like fighting with close family, it can get rough. But really I care just as much about my freind cdwag14 as I do the people who like and support Sanders.
It’s always good to be reminded that the people we support aren’t perfect. I don’t think Sanders said that, but if he did he was wrong. Thanks for representing the push-back against the idea a woman can’t be president. Whoever wins we need to solidarity to fight the real source of hate and division in out country…
You got the jokes today I see. That’s ok, today I can laugh at that. Thanks, I needed that.
Actually if you check my comment history I’ve been posting on the root for quite a while, in fact I was here before Gawker was just getting going.
Today, lets be loving. It’s caucus day. Change isn’t easy for people, and it doesn’t always come in a package we recognize. Sometimes change is scary, it can make us angry that it isn’t what we want, or that those bringing it aren’t who we want. But we can be kinder, and I think we have to be right now. Today let’s be…
Nah, he’s good people. In fact, he’s one of the smartest writers here. I disagree with his assessments... and he’s a bit biased, but that’s ok. We don’t all have to agree. We need voices like his.
I love you, and I appreciate your skepticism. It keeps us all sharp. Supporting change is never easy, and if it was it wouldn’t be worthwhile. You aren’t with us today, and that’s ok. I hope that we can change your mind. If not, then we will fight for you anyways. Today is the big day, and today you get love from me.
I love you cdwag14. It’s been a long time where I’ve been countering and arguing with you. But I’ll give you this. You are consistent and persistent. Sometimes we get rough with each other, and I know it hasn’t been the nicest of conversations between us.
