I watched this ad before reading the article’s explanation. Before the voice-over kicked in, I honestly thought it was a republican ad about being tough on immigration.

That was a pretty jarring ad, and I guess I’m not used to seeing such stark, blatant imagery coming from “my” side. (though I’d be very interested to be shown more like it!)

Fuck these people. I get sideways looks when I’m with my wife all the time. I would hate to have to deal with them while they’re emboldened and in a group of 20.
