Pssshht you may never see this sort of technology, but I fully intend to live long enough to get uploaded and see it. ;)
This is a great cast, so hopefully it will transition well to TV. I like the premise of this show and could use some lighthearted jabs at the genre itself. I hope there is some crazy cross-overs :)
The key here is to “casually see yourself to the door” and not to be stalking and haranguing the people who are still members. It’s annoying when a person who is clearly disturbed tries to get you to believe you’re in a cult when you are happy with where you are and benefiting. Unfortunately, some of the women who are…
Which lets you know it was wrong from jumpstreet. Fan art tends to be whomever they’re jerking it to at the time. Can you imagine the other havoc that might have created?
So, basically, we need to find the monster who produced this fan art and stop them before they strike again. Gotcha.
Promising things and making promises and asking for money is a BAD sign. Doesn’t actually work with the famousness UNLESS it is Scientology.
4.) If, when you ask questions, you get angry defensive responses, get blamed for asking, get punished for asking, or get nonsensical or empty answers (“I’m not interested in that question, I feel like it puts me in a defensive posture when I have nothing to defend really” is both nonsensical and empty) or platitudes…
I think there’s more, including degradation, etc. BUT, you are describing groupthink, which is the first part of any cult.
This is also good advice to avoid pyramid schemes.

Back in the very early 90s when I was an aspiring actress, I joined this group called the Actors Information Project which looked like something that would help kickstart my career and on the surface, it kind of did. But it didn’t take long to scratch beneath what seemed like a legit career coaching organization, to…
OMG I am so glad you ran like hell!
Good for you. Thanks also for a smile on a hard day. (Not to make light of your story, but the “oh shit I’m out part” was well delivered.)
No. This is reductive, bigoted, and bad. If you walk into your local Unitarian Church, to take one example among many, you can ask any questions you like, come and go as you please, be friends with whomever you want, and make a donation or not, up to you. Nothing. Like.
You mean like Christianity, Islam and Judaism etc?
I would add too that in general it is a bad sign when you need to pay more money to advance through the levels of any spiritual organization.
4. The women all wear floral dresses and bonnets from the 19th century.
1. They demand you give money, possessions, etc without asking questions.
