My point is, Serena knows far more about race, and what it means to be a minority under scrutiny, then any average white person living in America would ever know.

And yeah, they have some backwoods views that probably (in my optimistic mind) has more to do with their lack of proximity to minorities than anything else.

IF you are black person living in america who has massive media attention, then I want to hear from you about your truth, and your experience. If you think Serena isn’t worth listening to, I doubt very much Sharpton or Cornel West will somehow be more worthy.

Again, Serena is a black woman, therefore her experiences of racism and bigotry will be vastly different, and more comprehensive then a white male. This isn’t rocket science.

But if Oprah talks about her experience as a black woman in a very racist country and culture, then I’d say she has way more perspective, then your average white guy.

Nothing in this story makes using Serena’s past mistakes and apology for said mistakes relevant to this story. It amounts to: ”Cool story bro.”
