The line and line reading is so barbed, that I winced (as a decidedly uncool girl in high school, I always had a suspicion that some of my classmates likely didn’t care whether I lived or died, but to hear it articulated like that was surprisingly painful, even years later).

... and it does appear he did use a rap excuse partially, so I was wrong there. Not good, but I still believe in second chances. This feels like an amazing teaching moment we have here that people want to blow because kindness doesn’t get them enough retweets. If I’m wrong, then so be it.

Why is it a terrible idea? Walmart has a lot of deep relationships with studios and networks that could conceivably add some benefit here. Netflix is turning into the stand-up comic network with a Hitler doc sprinkled in here and there. Stranger Things jumped the shark last year. Letterman’s fluff, pre-approved…
