Glad Angelina stood up now - Brad’s most likely acted this way MULTIPLE times and if there weren’t real consequences... it was going to continue escalating.

Thank you for sharing this with us. I am so sorry you’re going through this.

I’ve read comments and stories from teachers who have seen abuse cases and reported them - thank you so much for what you do, it must be emotionally exhausting at times. I wish that there were smaller class rooms and schools so that more time could be spent identifying at-risk children and providing them support.

I feel the responsibility for determining how to handle those cases should be put on the agency - they are trained to do what’s best for the family, and can hopefully put them in contact with needed resources or other support services if it is determined that abuse/neglect is not taking place. From my understanding,

I may be thinking overly optimistically, but I hope it encourages people to make anonymous reports to CPS/DCFS when they see signs of child and domestic abuse. Even if it feels like it goes nowhere to the person who reported it... it starts a paper trail that will (hopefully) help the survivor.
