I used the qualifier “if.” But if these guys are smuggling illegal weapons across state lines, or endangering anyone, law enforcement has some latitude to break it up.

Afghanistan didn’t have nuclear weapons, that is why we were more active post 9/11. If the Taliban had a nuclear arsenal, then you can bet there would be a lot more uncomfortable shuffling. Also we were in NATO, and Ukraine isn’t.
