Whoever directed this one must have been a big fan of Guy Richie’s film Snatch. Not only did they use the song Golden Brown by the Stranglers, but the shot of Luther being knocked out was pretty much the exact same shot Richie used of Brad Pitt getting knocked down in that film.

Yeah, I read it as a lie as well.  I was just saying, even if true what would she do.   She’s even more screwed if she had a one way.   I’m really curious if they are going to show us anything about how she gets back, or if next week she’ll be back in England.

While I would never jet off to another country without money...I did wonder, just what the heck she was going to do there at the end.   No money, and a phone that is useless because she exceeded her international plan limits.   How do you even get to the airport, assuming that what she told Biagio was true about

I had my money on him hanging himself as well.

I’m not sure if he won, that he’d be able to rub it in his brother’s face...given his brother could just reply, “oh, and it only took you 3 tries...good for you”.   Plus, his brother still beat him, so there’s always that.

Well that’s the thing with the show. Brian may very well be a better chef than Michael, but he wasn’t a better chef than Michael on that one day when they competed head to head in the finale.

Yeah, it’s interesting that since the show seems to have done away with casting total jerks to punch up the drama, they now have to really work it in the editing room to add some pizzazz. Don’t get me wrong, I much prefer a pool of talented, amicable, chefs. It makes for a MUCH better show if what you care about is

You might even want to give it another couple of years before revisiting it.   Once your kid is talking, and dealing with regular kid trials and tribulations, I think your brain gets a slight but significant re-wiring.

I noticed a profound change in how movies, and to a lesser extend TV dramas, affected me after my first kid.   I didn’t notice it immediately, but I don’t really think I was getting out much those first 2-3 years after having her.   It’s been years now, my daughters are 26, and 14, and films with strong emotional

Serious question, do you have kids?   I think there is a significant difference in the reactions that people with kids vs. people without kids have to the movie.

I think it’s clear Gregory is the man to beat. He’s on top of his game.

Well I guess Bryan probably didn’t want to push back to hard on Kevin’s plan, since it is Kevin’s vision, and he was the executive chef. If he had pushed back aggressively on the issue of too many dishes, not only would have likely caused a lot of friction between them, but if the concept then failed, it could come

Yeah, I think Bryan’s issue, is he’s pretty much a fine dining guy, and can’t seem to think outside that style of food...which doesn’t work with every challenge.

I’m surprised they didn’t call him out when he said “I couldn’t get the same brand of curry powder” at judges table. The dish is so near and dear to him, you would think he would have his own spice mix formula for it by now.

And, that dude has opened so freaking many restaurants, he’s sort of an ideal choice for dealing with all the organizational crap that the Restaurant Wars Front of the House job entails.

Yeah, he gives off an odd vibe at times, but Kevin’s a great chef.   I dined at Gun Show in Atlanta about 3 years ago and it was great.   The dessert we had that night was I believe the same banana pudding they served during restaurant wars, and it was yummy.

Malarky annoys the ever living shit out of me, but I have to hand it to him, he handled the front of the house work with aplomb...and props to Gregory for seeing that and snatching Malarky up for that specific purpose. I was pretty floored when he did it.

Exactly.  CBS doesn’t want trouble, especially from a beloved musician like Bob Dylan.   Neither does Colbert for that matter.

I don’t think that spectacular car crash was what Mike had in mind. He had a real “well crap” look on his face right after he realized the results of his shot.  I think he was trying to take out the driver, but instead probably hit the front tire. Shooting at a moving target is not easy.

Yeah, except for all of the VERY obvious vandalism that Nacho did while Gus was setting up his chicken fuse fire bomb.   Nacho spray painted the artwork on the walls smashed the cash register with a golf club or something, and slashed many of the booths with a knife.   Clearly they wanted it to look like arson.   Not
