Saw this a couple of months ago and enjoyed it far more than the reviewer. I think it’s reductive to put it into the Taken genre - whilst there is some (gory) action moments it’s not an action film, and the role Mikkelsen plays is a far cry from that type of genre. It just about killed me when I started watching Mindhunter - ‘who is this guy?’. I’ve seen Fight Club many times but couldn’t figure out who he was.

This is EXACTLY the way Bill Peters lost his NHL coaching job over two years ago. Peters said those exact same words to Akim Aliu when he was coaching him in the AHL (minor league) years ago, and when the story eventually came out years later, the Calgary Flames fired him.

I also think that there’s a segment of people who are only making this an issue BECAUSE they’re frustrated with how Disney’s made a clear shift to social justice/representation as a casting and staging influence in Star Wars. E.g. “Fine, you want to make it a big deal, let’s ramp it up even more just to be annoying!”…

Anytime a critic has to write, “No really, it doesn’t suck!” it’s a big red flag that it sucks.

I think the issue with Kanan is legitimate. I didn’t remember that Kanan wasn’t his actual name so I had to look up who Caleb was after the episode was over. Didn’t look anything like him.

Regular reminder that the very concept of a Clone Army is completely ridiculous and it’s hilarious that they all inexplicably have Kiwi accents. Accents don’t work like that! Also has anyone ever considered that Kanan might just of had a tan from hanging out on desert planets?
