Yeah, for sure! Leia is the exemplary role model in the original trilogy. She holds her friends to high standard, has no regard for self-serving or corrupt authority, kicks ass and takes names. Han’s an antihero that takes most of the trilogy to true his moral compass, and Luke’s journey is a largely personal one,…
Interesting! Irregardless, I chose Baker arbitrarily just for the sake of being facetious. Fletcher’s delusional that Whitaker takes away from male role models.
What do you mean D-list?! She’s helping fulfill Ben Shapiro’s dreams of working in film production!
Because reactionaries inherently think the status quo is fair, and any measure of equity given to others means you are either taking from them, or demeaning the “hard work” they put in to get what they have. They don’t regard the fact that their privilege comes from exploitation of anyone else, so they balk at others’…
It’s a slight reassurance that reactionaries just have the smoothest brains no matter where they dwell. If your take is “boys aren’t growing up with a specific fictional hero to look up to,” I have to assume that cranium of yours is neuron-deficient.
The static camera work really bothers me. It feels very low tier for what they’re trying to pull off, more akin to some Syfy B movie than this big project Netflix is putting out.
LOL, that’s ridiculous. I think you should speak your mind- it’s just that what you said has little bearing on what you responded to, or the controversy at Netflix. There’s little to go off of over how much you enjoyed something- the aspect of art being subjective can mean that what one person finds troubling, the…
You say you don’t understand the logic of my statement, and then provide a half-baked “takeaway” that is absolutely delusional. But hey, at least you didn’t lie about your lack of understanding.
The takeaway from this whole thing should really be that when a company’s senior head (like Ted Sarandos) responds to criticism with a crock of shit and inevitably walks it back, don’t take it the latter comment as a truth. That was purely a PR saving throw, he said what he felt the first time: it’s more important to…
It’s art, you are allowed to feel that way- and your feelings on the special has nothing to do with the critiques against the special, or Netflix’s mishandling of the whole thing.
Everything I see of the adaptation tells me that everybody involved wants to make a faithful adaptation, but is the wrong person to execute that intention. It looks like some of the stuff that makes Cowboy Bebop what it is, but it’s missing a lot of what it’s supposed to feel like.
Shane Gillis has been making a reemergence lately, and unsurprisingly he’s still a trash person. He has some weird hatred for abortion- going so far as to say the insane Texas stuff is great and that he’d want more extreme methods to block abortion access.
I totally agree, and I feel that it’s because of Schumacher. The guy has real filmmaking talent, and several quality films to show for it, and his attempt at doing Adam West-era cheese feels so inauthentic. Clooney is actually great at cheese (see Return of the Killer Tomatoes; Burn After Reading; Hail, Caesar!), Uma…
lol they technically did- up until a couple weeks ago you literally couldn’t find, let alone reply, to greyed responses to your comments, or even some ungreyed- they’d just linger in your notifications. I sent in a couple Zendesk support calls, and shortly after they disabled their Zendesk. I sort of wonder if they…
Kinja half-chews any link you try to submit and spews it back in the most unhelpful way. It’s like a momma bird that only regurgitates food into its baby’s eyes.
I totally forgot she appeared on Parks & Rec! She was amazing on Orphan Black of course, and I really liked her performance on Perry Mason- her preacher character on that was downright disturbing.
Why do you torture me with such fantasies?!
Tatiana Maslany is a Canadian treasure, I hope She-Hulk really kicks off.
Oscar Isaac being cast made my interest go from 0 to 11 immediately.
