Not to mention started a fire as a result. And as a tax collector to boot- why the fuck did he get to do all that shit?

That blazer/blouse combo looks fucking EXCELLENT

I grew up with 5 channels in the rural parts of the Prairies, and Las Vegas might just be the quintessential “Nothing on tv, so I’ll watch this!” for my formative years. I don’t remember a single particular episode, just all the tracking shots of guys & ladies showing tons of skin at the pool scenes. It was a shit

He’s the guy that got big off of getting yelled at by James Caan in Las Vegas, then spent a career being a forgettable rom-com star and minor character in the Transformers film.

Josh Duhamel’s charisma largely stops at his appearance, and Timothy Olyphant’s got the charismatic equivalent of nuclear fission.

Thanks for that suggestion! I’m going to check that out.

I think the distance you speak of is a matter for art aiming for a more broad appeal- in the midst of all of the epidemic, we are going to feel like it’s a bit tasteless to see KJ Apa fight for a girl in a poorly-made YA film; Death to 2020 brings a little levity by lampooning all the shit pulling us down- it taps

Same boat here.

There’s some cool bands on there, but I’d be most interested for The Circle Jerks and Les Savy Fav.

It is baffling that Supermarket Sweep isn’t a complete disaster. It’s basically just Leslie Jones doing a YouTube reaction channel about people frantically shopping; somehow I’d rather see somebody fake cry about a movie trailer.

Exactly why I enjoy it! Though I’m going to do another reading with a critical lens next read-through- I’m curious how much of her “welcoming community” has the subversiveness of her thoughts on what’s “acceptable” in her community. I’m a white, cis-man whose sexuality might be a little closeted but I haven’t lived

At the very least we can appreciate that The Squad isn’t lobbing knives in Ilhan Omar’s back over her “Antisemitism”.

That’s the trepidatious territory I find myself in- Harry Potter means a lot to me, (mostly the books) and before JK put herself as the new face of trans bigotry I’d’ve hit the parks, buy silly trinkets, etc. Nowadays, I will still enjoy the books, and occasionally the films, but not in any way that will put money

but I did spend $5 to see The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard

This flub after flub of Covid-inspired drama makes me wonder if there has been or will be a swing-and-a-hit from Hollywood land. Death to 2020 was okay, I guess.

*CTRL-F and sees no mention of “Copolla family” in an article about Jason Schwartzman*

lol! Such a garbage film.

It was- Opus T. Penguin also called me out on that, earlier. It’s been near a decade since I read it, obviously I don’t have a great memory of Ultimatum!

Do you mean the Eli Roth joint Hostel? Because I very much want to forget Hostel.

I heard Peter Thiel is already trying to get John Darnielle to file suit.
