in real life? not good. But, uh, it's a TV show

hadn't thought about Ed but with all the scenes of him being super creepy with women … starting to make sense

sorry should've added it "May be" why

my husband has, jokingly(?), said that if our kid turns out like Chloe and her playlist-making and seemingly endless music knowledge he will feel he has succeeded as a parent. He's just the biggest music nerd.

it's why you date a guy but definitely not why you marry a guy.

why can we wipe it off the table completely? Jane clearly wasn't sure if the man Maddie found was him and clearly said "if she could only hear his voice/smell him" which feels like a pretty big tell as something that'll come up later
She's never met Perry so

This is my theory as well
but I also think that Perry is Jane's rapist and that's why he ends up dead at the end

It was a pleasure to burn. And then the murders began.
Meh

I laughed SO HARD at that.

You're right; it's not oscar bait in the sense that he *made* it purposefully to win an Oscar. I think it generally refers to movies that fit into certain criteria which causes the Academy lean towards them. Sometimes those movies are actually very good and sometimes they aren't. I think La La Land is the latter in

I agree with your point about the medium telling the story. Did you see all the shorts, including the non nominated ones? My favorite was "once upon a line" which i thought was great at doing that

I don't think they're out of touch. I would've understood nominations in all the big categories, but it becoming one of the most nominated films of all-time is a bit much. I think it's much more indicative of the Academy splooging themselves every time a movie makes Hollywood or Los Angeles look amazing. It's weird

Well i don't think he should win either … I think Ali should, and will, win. But I just wanted that little kid to be recognized for how good he was.

I should've added deserving. I think there are more important films this year that were ALSO better than La La Land. So it wouldn't be a win for importance's sake.
Cause I do agree that films shouldn't win just to make a point or anything

I think La La Land deserves to be nominated for a couple categories, but definitely didn't warrant the rogue wave it created. I also don't think it deserves to win any category.
I love watching the Oscars and I wish they would stop doing things that make me feel like I have to defend myself for liking them till I'm

Key & Peele as Timon & Pumba and then maybe i'll see it

Right. Great song choice

I had this exact thought

OOH, that's a good one

i thought he did too. I think he was excited that William was being a 'bad guy' so to speak
