To Lubezki! AGAIN! (most likely)

Nope. Bad movie. Lawrence was fine, but not Oscar worthy.

Best Picture noms are based on percentages. So the reason there aren't 10 movies nominated every year is because it has to get a certain percentage from the Academy to gain a slot. You can't say "they could've just put _________ in there" because that isn't how it works.

Completely agree! It's a fucking great pop song

I think if ANYONE could comment about framing someone, it WOULD be me.

"Avery clearly had an obsession with Halbach" is awfully speculative and sort of hyperbolic. I don't think any of those facts suggest that

When Judge Doom kills the cartoon shoe in Who Framed Roger Rabbit … still makes me really uncomfortable and really, really sad. Just the concept of being able to kill a toon is really dark and very scary

Those movies were TERRIFYING.

Its SO BAD. That Regina Spektor song at the end made it feel like I was watching a really bad music video. Blech.
Also they used the same piano version of "where is my mind" that was JUST used in Mr. Robot this year.

YUP!

I do! It would definitely explain the nudity. But, if I remember correctly, their faces looked very … stoic? Like they weren't scared?

I'm very interested in how that scene of Evie and her friends running naked connects to their disappearance.
I loved Nora's story about the guy who used the sudden departure as a way to leave his life. Like … you KNOW that shit would happen in real life.

I think the Cricket is in that wrapped gift Evie gave her Dad

I'll believe it when I see it

Thank god somebody made that joke

I was mainly asking these questions to spark conversation and debate - not actually hoping they will be answered concretely at any point

It's actually the perfect show for me. I loved the first season and have the read the book as well as many other Tom Perrotta novels. Obviously Lindelof put all that in there so people WOULD question it. I wasn't asking these questions in hopes of getting answers to them within the show, but rather to spark

That is a very, very interesting point

Haha, I think everyone may have misunderstood my questioning … I understand that this isn't a show that wraps up things with bows and I'm not looking for that. I loved the first season and liked the book so I get it.

Excellent point.
